I am generally not a huge fan of leaving negative reviews on locally owned businesses, so I am loathe to do this. I get someone owns this and it’s their livelihood. I’m sure a very nice person. However in my opinion this place needs work or it was just a symptom of the time of my order, which was at 8pm. I was just in the area and hadn’t eaten all day. I’m very aware of the better choices around town.
I ordered the peanut butter chicken. Do NOT order that from this restaurant. The chicken by itself (it came separately from the sauce, exactly like every place does sweet and sour) was delicious. Chicken chunks were cooked to perfection. Usually these strip mall Chinese places tend to overcook the chicken to where it is chewy or the meat is of questionable origin. Not here, like I said, the chicken itself was great. The problem was the peanut butter sauce. I don’t know I’ve ever tasted something so awful or had the displeasure of smelling. Usually a peanut butter sauce is sweet, tastes like peanut butter and is lovely on chicken. This place, and I’m not being dramatic here but for real, the sauce smelled like cat pee and was atrocious. A huge avoid if you do eat here.
Like I said though, the chicken was great. So good I would have still given this place 4 stars if not for my crab rangoon being of the worst I’ve ever had. It was simultaneously overcooked and undercooked. Chewy, very floury and just a huge letdown.
Picking up the order via an online order was very nice. The person working appeared anxious to give me my food as there was no one else there. The windows were pretty dirty and the place itself was exactly what you’ve likely experienced at every other strip mall Chinese food place you’ve ever been to.
In a pinch, this place is fine but I’d never purposely make...
Read moreMonday night we ordered our food for delivery. Owner said it would take around 15 minutes. Ordered PB chicken, dumplings, sesame chicken, krab rangoons. 20 minutes roll by. Getting hungry. 40 minutes pass. Call the restaurant and they said they got very busy and your food is on the way. 65 minutes from the time I called the order in and still no food. Called again and said that we no longer want our deliver and to refund our $ back on the bank card. Lady on the phone said the driver is just about to leave. I said 5 more minutes and we are not accepting the order. Right then the door bell rings. Chinese delivery. Very poor service.
A: poor communication between the workers, cooks, delivery driver. B: Proprietor was very hesitant on refunding our money.
Food: Sesame chicken had a great flavor and crunch. Broccoli steamed fresh. Better than average. Peanut butter chicken was very soupy and soggy. No crunch almost had a honey mustard flavor to it.
Really the only thing I enjoyed where the pork dumplings. Very large and tasty.
Fried rice was nothing to write home about, very oily.
Overall it was not that impressed, there are many other Oriental restaurant in Lincoln to choose from. If I do go back might as well order takeout from inside...
Read moreOrdered Cashew Chicken, Kung pow Chicken and peanut butter chicken and a side of crab ragoons. The cost was over $30. Got home and made our plates, after the first bite i realized my Kung pow chicken was not spicy at all and was mostly celery and carrots, my wifes cashew chicken had the exact base vegetables as my kung pow chicken. Both dishes were very bland and veges were under cooked. The peanut butter chicken was one of the worst ive seen or tasted in Lincoln, very soupy like and a very strange flavor. If your a peanut butter chicken lover stay away from Golden China! We usually order from Mings and have had good experiences but tonight we decided to try golden China.. huge mistake and a waist of money. If you want good Chinese in that area go to Mings NOT Golden China. 2 thumbs down. Oh and the Crab Ragoons were...
