They told me it was a buffet but what they didnāt tell me is it was an awakening. I walked in thinking āsure, pizza, chicken, mashed potatos... how good can it realy be?ā But I left changed. Like when Frodo returns to the Shire. Things were... different. I had tasted greatness. I had dipped a peice of cheezy bread into marinara and looked god in the face and he said āya thatās pretty good.ā The chicken is not of this plane. Itās hot. Crispy. Tender. Confident. It looks you in the eye and says āI know who I am.ā The mashed potaotes??? I donāt want to be dramatic but they cured something inside me that I thought was uncurable (emotionaly). The gravie went on like a warm apology from someone who used to hurt you emotionally in middle school. They say āIām sorry.ā And you accept it. The gravie is closure. Arcade Time! Now, look. Iāve been to arcades. Iāve been to Chuck E. Cheese and Iāve been to hell (Denver International Airport). But this was different. This was... personal. Tanner, the guy runnin it, had the eyes of a man whoās seen too much, and yet, still finds joy. He said ālemme know if anything's broken.ā I almost told him āTanner, emotionally? Many things. But the games are fine.ā I didnāt say it tho because I didnāt want to make him sad. The Fast & the Furious game?? Felt like I WAS Vin Diesel. The Nerf Arcade?? Pew pew pew. Deadly accurate. King Kong? I climbed the empire state of my own emotions. Skee Ball was mostly good. The only thing broken was āWhack A Clown,ā which I respect. Clowns have been thru enough. Let them rest. The Monopoly game made me feel like a capitalist, even though im a radical communist. Still functional tho. "Tower of Tickets" gave me 301 tickets when I won 300 and Iām not sure why but I took it as a sign. That one extra ticket? That was for me. There were rubber duck games. The ducks could use more variety. Many were yellow. I donāt judge them. But life is a tapestry, and duck should come in teal, lavender, and even heartbreak. I love ducks. Pizza was good. Not like āwow Iām gonna rethink my lifeā good but like āthis is hot, fresh, and I want moreā good. The dessert pizza? It tasted like a cinnamon toast funeral for a toaster strudel. In a good way. Also the Salad bar is there if you wanna lie to yourself. Ice cream machine was broke. I forgave them. Iām working on being a better person. Very loud. Itās a buffet with an arcade. You didnāt come here for a silent meditation retreat. 10/10. Would dine. Would ranch. Would fun zone again. One final note: The ticket counter had prizes, yes. But I didnāt want prizes. I wanted meaning. I wanted my tickets to tell me, āyou did it. You are enough.ā And they did. In a way.I love you Pizza Ranch. Never change. Unless youāre fixing the clown game ā a humble visitor with greasy hands and...

I got an e-mail announcing the creation of a "Fun Zone" for Pizza Ranch. I'm guessing they did this to compete with Cicis. Hopefully the dining area is insulated from this "Fun Zone" so adults can dine in peace. Cicis' Fun Zone has expanded into the dining area, and the arcade machines were too loud the last time I visited.
My first time going to Pizza Ranch was in September of 2017. I ordered the Bronco which is the all meat pizza. I went to the restaurant to order the pizza as a carry out. The bad thing is they started making the wrong pizza and had to start over, so my wait time was extended. The good news is they gave me a $5 off coupon for my wait. It was very good quality. It reminded me a lot of Pizza Hut's meat lovers pizza except it wasn't greasy.
The second time, I ordered Chicken Bacon Ranch. It was great! The third time, which was Friday Oct 13th, I ordered the Texan which is a taco pizza. I had taco pizza before but not like this! This is the best quality taco pizza I ever had. Pizza Ranch is definitely the place to go for quality pizza. Each time I went into the restaurant and ordered a pizza for carry out, I was offered a free beverage while I waited.
I have taken a friend here for the buffet a few times. The last time I visited was when I took a friend here on December 23rd last year. He loves Cici's, but I wanted to introduce him to a better pizza buffet, and I was treating him to the pizza buffet as a congratulations on an important achievement in his life. We both dined like kings. The first thing I did was fill my glass with Mr. Pibb. I love Mr. Pibb, but I can't find a store that sells it so it's a treat to get it here.
I didn't mess with the salad bar that day. I just wasn't in the mood for rabbit food. I started right in with the pizza and the fried chicken. The fried chicken was very good. I'd argue good enough to give Popeyes and KFC a run for their money. The mashed potatoes were good too. The pizza was hot, fresh, and tasty. The desserts are good too. I'm so grateful that we have a pizza buffet option besides Cici's now that Valentino's and Pizza Hut don't offer...
