I (Tara Miller) owner of The Heartland Interior Design, had the privilege of being the interior designer for this interior remodel. My team and I worked with the owner at Rutabaga's to help transform this space from the dark pizza joint it used to be, into the vibrant and fresh Rutabaga's that you see today! We utilized natural light and selected finishes that would help reflect the light back into the space. We implemented brand colors, logos and more! We intentionally designed the "wow" moment of the bar so customers would see that as soon as they walked in. We incorporated natural textures of rattan and bold pattern to catch the eye. We wanted the food to be the star of the show so we selected neutral wood tabletops and had them made by a local woodworker. Their food is INCREDIBLE, their staff is amazing and we feel so blessed to have been a part of their remodel. We are thrilled with how the space turned out and now we need to go drink on of their amazing lemonades and eat one of their chocolate...
Read moreRuttis has become a staple for us. Working our way through the whole menu and it’s beautiful!!! The fried pickles are always a must!!! ALLLL the nachos are incredible!!! Don’t even get me started on THE MILKSHAKES????!!! The peanut butter explosion and the cookie butter biscoff are a household favorite for us.
Sara is just the best. No other words. She is the hardest working, kindest, most devoted woman I have ever met. She loves her business and she loves what she does but more than that she loves everyone who comes through that door and you can FEEL it. She radiates so much joy, love, happiness and more. I can’t really put it all into words but she is seriously incredible. A gift to all.

Read moreWe had reached out to Rutabagas for our wedding reception catering as a last resort of sorts when our previous caterer had stopped communicating with us.
However, we weren't too sold on the catering options Rutabaga's had listed on their website, so we reached out to the Chef directly to let her know what we wanted. As well as adding in the caveat that we were going to be getting married about 100 miles away from Lincoln and that she would need to travel for us.
She was willing to work with us, and over the following months of planning, she was responsive, giving us ideas on what sides would go well with each entree option, quickly putting together an invoice so that we would know how much to budget, and when the wedding day came, we were blown away by how the food tasted, and all of our guests walked away...
