A wonderful morning breakfast find in cozy, small town Lindström, nestled near the tea kettle water tower and flower-lined streets. This restaurant has a cafe-feel without the commonly cramped feeling, spacious booth and table seating with still a quaint diner feel. We enjoyed Swedish waffles with lingonberry syrup and a more traditional American steak and eggs. A lingonberry waffle is a unique find but I have to say Norway House takes the cake here, although lacks the cozy appeal of Swedish Inn. It was good, however, and I'll be back again. The steak and eggs was very generous in size and the steak unexpectedly well-made for a casual restaurant. Delicious. Very friendly service. Street and parking lot parking.
Accessibility: There are handicap parking spots in front of the restaurant, however it's all curb, no ramp; you're going to have to jump that curb with your chair. Double door entry, but the inner one was propped open (however it was a nice day). I would have needed to do some creative door-opening if I was alone, but there is enough space between the two doors for a chair and maneuvering for the next door. Inside there is plenty of space between tables to get through easily, refreshing and worth it almost alone. Booths, however, have a step-up to them. If you want a booth you'll have to do a strong transfer if you're in a chair. I think they'd store your wheelchair aside for you. Our waitress gave us intuitively a nice table out of the way with room for me to settle into place and a regular chair to be moved from the table. The bathroom stall's accessible space is usable with excellent grab bars. Access to the sink is a narrow space, however. I fit in an ultralight TiLite about 27" with my rims and camber, but a power chair might barely if at all fit through, definitely a back-up from the long narrow space to get back away from the sink, no turning space. Otherwise it's an easy...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped in here for a Sunday breakfast. He got the biscuits and gravy and I got the Uffda skillet. Here is the description for the Uffda: Filled with ham, sausage, bacon, onion, green pepper, tomato, mushroom & cheese, and made with 3 farm fresh eggs, hash browns & toast. The hashbrown were barely there, no way was there three eggs, not a single tomato, I couldn't find more than two pieces of bacon and each was about 1/8 inches square. I found one mushroom and a little bit of sausage. I asked the server if perhaps they sent out the Western by mistake since I could find a few onions, some ham, and about five pieces of green pepper. After checking with the kitchen she assured me that I was indeed served the Uffda. It was pitifully small and extremely disappointing. My husbands sausage gravy was bland and the biscuits were not good. Oh yeah, and we waited 40 minutes for our food to come out from the kitchen, although when we sat down we were told that there might be a little bit of a wait because of how busy there were. Still, I think 40 minutes for a breakfast entree to come out, even when the place is full, is excessive. And if the food had been worth the wait I probably would not be writing up this bad review. All things combined, it was not a...
Read moreAbsolutely loved it. All aspects of the time spent there were amazing. Service was the friendliest I have seen in a long time. Food was great, I had the hot roast beef sandwich smothered in gravy, and my wife had the chicken sandwich, both could have been shared. Well, not for me so much, but it matched my appetite. The wife brought half home. Lol. We also had a slice of the fantastic strawberry/rubarb pie with a scoop of ice cream. Mmm good, I will get it everytime I go back. Which will be tomorrow. If you're looking for a friendly, clean environment with great service and food, stop here, you will love it. Excellent server today, she was so nice, and thoughtful. New...
