Tom’s food is generally good, especially their cheese-curds, burgers, ice-cream and chicken tenders are all staples when frequenting here. However, regarding my ‘3-star’ review, there is zero reason the employees preparing customers orders, shouldn’t be wearing gloves when handling food. I have been here many times and can see direct behind their kitchen, and I’ve witnessed them touching food items (Buns for example) without wearing gloves. That is a health code violation and isn’t acceptable. And I suspect this is how other locations are as well, because I’ve witnessed other locations where the employees are not wearing gloves when preparing customers orders.
And as much as I like Toms, they need to learn from their competition with Culver’s that’s directly next door, where they’re consistently using gloves when handling orders, and placing fries with tongs in bags, versus touching them with their hands, ect. This is the type of details that customers pay attention to, and this is an easy adjustment for Tom’s to make to do better.
(Also, one last minor nitpick, is, Tom’s probably could work on the presentation a bit when assembling the burgers. It’s really sloppily put together. There are other ‘burger places’ that are just as busy, that still manage to put a bit more pride when assembling...
Read moreThis review is specific to the Freedom Rd locaation. I have to start to by saying the staff was nice enough to work with me to resolve the issues I had. So, at least that's something!
However, I guess they had to change how they cook their grilled chicken and it is not great. It's charred/burned to the point where it really isnt edible. The first grilled chicken sandwich I got was almost completely black on one side. The second, though less black than the first, was still charred/burnt too much to eat. They were nice enough to remake it for me and did provide a refund. Though, they felt the need to remind me that they told me it was going to be the same and seemed annoyed that I had asked them to remake it in the first place. In my opinion, the cook on these is unacceptable and shouldn't be served - it's burnt.
Unless you really love a burnt charcoal flavor, I don't suggest ordering the grilled chicken at this location. Review may seem harsh for just the chicken being an issue, but I don't eat red meat or fried meats; so, the grilled chicken is really all I ever order.
That being said, the fries, onion rings, and cheese curds were as good as always. The hot fudge sundae is one of the best I've had. The sides and frozen treats seem to be good across...
Read moreI would rate this place negative stars; however it does not give me that option. I decided to go to Tom's for dinner around 5:40ish. From the begining my experience was already disatisfying. I pulled up to the speaker box and was greeted, as I was taking my order I could already tell something was wrong. The screen had at one point four lemonades on my order and all I had ordered so far was a combo meal. (In total I ordered two combo meals and a double cheese burger). So anyways we pull up to the window to pay and asked if the employee could read back to us what he had. And it was not right. Whatever people make mistakes. THEN someone else gave us our food and we asked if it was all there and she said "yep" about to drive away I realized I didn't get my drinks AND I was over charged. I called the store to complain ,the customer service was awful and they basically said it was my fault. This had me enraged. I went home to eat my food and it was all sloppy and smushed. At this point I drove back to the location and had them refund me and gave them the food back. And at that, the manager didn't even apologize for poor service. He gave me my money and walked away. I will never at at the Tom's in little chute again after the...
