Cons: -cappuccino/“coffee lattes” don’t contain actual espresso and are only available in sugared varieties -hollandaise (for the eggs Benedict) is made from a powder and isn’t an actual butter sauce -the omelettes (or “omelets”) are mediocre in general (and kinda pricey especially when compared to the lunch menu and steak prices) - would be nice to see them seasoned better and filled, instead of ingredients being mixed with the eggs -gyros meat in the Mediterranean “omelet” was cubed, which is just weird -side of fruit would be better if it contained strawberries, bananas, blueberries or raspberries (someone might want it to go along with their crepes) -potato pancakes taste good but could be less batter-like and more potato, and the sour cream and apple sauce sides were served in plastic soufflé cups as if it were to go -biscuits with the biscuits and gravy were stale/hard -and lastly, the name of the place doesn’t fit with the concept of the menu: it should have more “exquisite” items and concentrate more on breakfast and less Mediterranean/Mexican/lunch, and have things like baby Dutch pancakes, German pancakes, or Finnish pancakes, German skillet (like with Bratkartoffeln), croque monsiuers, quiches, lingon berries, mascarpone cream, more savory crepe options like smoked salmon, or crepe suzette, things like that
Pros: -sausage links are great -crepes are good (albeit a little thick for a crepe) -hard...
Read moreWe used to frequent here all the time. We decided to treat our boys this morning, as this is their favorite restaurant. We waited over 15min just to be acknowledged and we were never given kids menus.
We did notice the prices went up and the portions are much smaller than they were.
My husband's order came out wrong the first time so we sent it back. No big deal, it happens. We waited over 10min only to realize the waitress wasn't coming back, so flagged down the gentleman who was on top of coffee refills (he was on the ball!)
The second time the eggs were completely raw. My husband chose to eat around the raw eggs..... and then we sat. again. Waiting Again, our waitress is no where in sight. 10min later, I flag down someone else for to go boxes. Our waitress never did come back and ask how food was or provide refills. We were literally flagging down anyone we could find (and there were a lot of workers!)
Lastly, we were denied an itemized receipt. We were told to give the cashier our table number. We asked cashier for itemized receipt and we were told she couldn't give us one. When we told her we were disappointed with the food, all we were told was, "okay". Not even an apology.
Overall, my kids loved their pancakes. My husband and I both got skillets and we were disappointed with both. It happens, but it was the service that ruined this...
Read moreI've been there twice now. Last time was about 6 months ago. While the food and service is pretty darn good, once I got the check, I realized why it's been so long since I've been there, despite living about a half mile away. A skillet, coffee, and a half refill of my coffee, plus standard 20% tip, was over 20 dollars. While it isn't exactly the end of the world, $20 for a breakfast skillet and a coffee is what I would expect to pay in downtown Naperville or perhaps even the city of Chicago.
Personally, I would go to the other, smaller cafe in downtown Plano. I won't mention it by name here out of respect for this establishment, but at the place I am speaking of you can get a skillet plus coffee and add 20 percent tip for just under $16 and they have a simpler, easier menu.
Just to reiterate, the service and the food here was good. No problems there. Minus one star for the cost of everything though. Over $20 is too much for one person having a breakfast skillet...
