Doe’s Eat Place – A Delicious Step Back in Time If you're ever in Little Rock and looking for a meal that feels like a hug from the past, Doe’s Eat Place is your spot. This place is cozy, down-to-earth, friendly, and absolutely delicious. Hell yea. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had been transported to another era—red and white checkered tablecloths, no pretense, just the comforting hum of people enjoying real food. The vibe is casual and welcoming, like visiting family you actually want to see. I was greeted right away by the friendliest waitress I've ever met. Not only did she walk me through the menu, she actually sat down with me to talk about the food. That’s not service, that’s hospitality. The meal kicked off with tamales smothered in chili and what they call a “drenched salad”—crunchy, tangy, and oddly perfect. Hell yea. Then came the main event: a massive, perfectly cooked T-bone steak served with fries, buttery potatoes, and a slice of Texas toast. At first, I wasn’t sure what the toast was doing there. But when my waitress told me it was for mopping up the steak juices, everything made sense. Hell yea. And just when I thought I couldn’t eat another bite, out came the homemade cake with lemon sauce. Sweet, tart, warm, nostalgic—hell yea. Doe’s Eat Place isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. It’s a time capsule lined with steaks and stories. A great meal, a super friendly waitress, and a vibe you just don’t find anymore. When in Little Rock, do yourself a favor: go to Doe’s. Hell yea.

We had they most relaxing, tasty, and comfortable business lunch here today. My only regret is that I haven't been here before! A coworker and I were treated to lunch by our bosses, and she recommended this location. The other three of us had never been, so let her lead. We started with tamales and chili, which were FANTASTIC! Then we shared a family-style 3-pound porterhouse steak, cooked a fantastic medium. The service was fast yet not rushed. We had more than enough time to enjoy our lunch, and our glasses never went empty. I didn't try a burger, but after seeing many walk past us, they surely looked good and were very popular! The group ate for about $150 after a much-earned tip. I'll definitely return with my wife for lunch one day, but I am not sure we'd be comfortable in this part of town after dark.

I was fortunate enough to have a dear friend treat me to dinner at Doe's Eat Place in Little Rock last night and I enjoyed it immensely. We had the homemade tamales and chili which was divine. We also had a wilted lettuce salad and two orders of the fried shrimp basket. The food was all delicious and the conversation was even better since it's been almost 30 years since the last time we saw each other. The interior is casual and relaxed and the walls are filled with pictures of many of the celebrities who have dined there. Parking can be hard to but we got a spot after circling the block. Looking forward to the next time!

I came here with some friends for a birthday gathering. The food was great and the atmosphere was homey. You get a lot of food for the price. We got a piece of cake for our friend and it was amazing! My only complaint about our night was the fact that we came as a large party and the server took our order and when it was time to leave, we were told that they were unable to separate the bill and it either needed to be paid together on one card, or we needed to figure out who owed what, and give him the cards and then tell him what amount went on what card, but that it wouldn't include tax, so someone would be stuck with the leftover amount. He said they didn't have a micro to separate the checks. He handed us a menu and a pen so we could figure it out, saying that that's how most people do it. After about ten minutes of trying to figure it out, we just had one person pay for it and then cash apped him back the money, but this didn't account for tax, so it wasn't accurate and our friend ended up paying everyone's tax. Our bill for our large party was over $350 and like, what of one single person didn't have that much in their bank account? Then what? I was sort of blown away at the fact that they regularly do it this way and put this headache on guests, instead of just ringing them up separately. I've worked in a restaurant before. You can void the ticket and rering it up separately. So, if you come here with a large party, be ready for this. Hope you're good at math and aren't in a...

Extremely disappointed in how we were treated. We called to make a reservation for a party of 7 for a birthday celebration. We were told that we couldn’t make a reservation over the phone and that we would have about a 30 to 45 minute wait which was fine. When we got there I walked in to let them know we were there and it was busy but there were 2 maybe 3 open tables. When I was finally greeted the first thing he asked me was if I had a reservation and I told him that we tried but we were told that we couldn’t make one over the phone. Then another gentleman walked up and asked me if we had a reservation and I gave him the same answer. He then asked me how many people we had and became very agitated and just said we don’t have any anything (tables) right now. so I asked if that meant we couldn’t wait for a table and that’s when he really became agitated slapping at his watch and said “ No, because my tables just got here and I don’t know how long it’s going to be!” I was kind of shocked and even the lady sitting on a bar stool by the register waiting on take out made a face like yikes! We really like to support local but we haven’t been here in over a year because the last time was just ok but decided to try again. Customer service is everything in a small business and these guys could use a...
