ART Outfitters — Local services in Little Rock

Great selection of materials and friendly, knowledgeable staff. So much nicer than the one corner of the big box craft stores. The only thing I didn’t like was that many of the brushes and paints didn’t have a price tag on them. That made me a little nervous knowing that these things tend to be expensive. That said, the palette I bought was $20 compared to $30 at Michael’s for the exact same one.

All in all great shopping experience and will go back next time I’m in Little Rock and need supplies. Would give 5 stars were it not for the lack of price tags.

Edit: Shortly after my initial review, I returned to get more supplies and much to my surprise, the owners had taken my review seriously and put up signage that made pricing much clearer. I’ve been back several times since then and it’s always a fantastic experience. Updated to 5 very well...

They may have specific and obscure supplies that you can't buy anywhere else locally in person, but that's where the benefits end. They have a very limited number of brands (paint, paper, etc), and often don't stock more than a tube or two of certain paints. The owner is pretentious and manages to talk down to you regardless of what you're inquiring about or how little or much you know. I've also been told things that are completely false about the supplies I've purchased there, which leads me to believe that they can't even offer decent expertise. And of course, their prices are anything but competetive. You're better off going to Hobby Lobby or Michael's for the basics and of course if you're not in a hurry, just order online.

My second trip to Art Outfitters in Little Rock was just as awesome as the first. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. Matthew was so kind and definitely enthusiastic about their products. If you have a question, they have the answer.

I was prepared to have sticker shock since this is a small privately owned business but that is definitely not the case! Their prices are excellent.
