We should have known not to go in when we parked in the parking garage and had to be careful not to step in doggie doo. The first room for which we were given keys had a beautiful 12th floor city view. It would have been great had the carpet not been covered with horrible stains. There were also a couple of popcorn kernels left for us, and someone was nice enough to leave a ball of short and curly (pubic?) hairs. I think there was a partial straw wrapper in the corner of the bathroom under the sink where the tile corner was pretty black with filth. It would have been hard to use the chest of drawers because the middle drawers face had been ripped off and wedged back in place. It seemed pretty safe. Why would La Quinta and Wyndham let their name be affiliated with this? It makes me think twice about Wyndham, and LA Quinta. Back down to the desk. Super nice attendant. Great customer service. If only the cleaning and maintenance staff were up to par, then this could be a great building. She gave me a nice, 4th floor, clean room. It did not have the amazing 12th floor view, but at least I wasn't going to have bed bug nightmares. The hallway outside my room door reminded me of the hallway in the Stanley hotel in Estes Park, CO from The Shining. Two twin girls and redrum on the walls would have somehow been right at home in this downtown Little Rock La Quinta by Wyndham.

Don't drive, SPEED by this location if you're looking for a clean place to stay. I booked this hotel online sight unseen while making a last minute trip to little rock for the 4th of July weekend. Being that this was a "convention center", my expectations were high. I at least expected it to be clean, especially since covid compliance is still a thing. Upon arrival the place looked questionable. However, we still decided to give it a shot. Especially since most hotels were at capcity and it was late. There was riffraff at the desk soon as we walked in. No big deal. I figured this was an isolated incident. WRONG!! The staff was great but the hotel itself( and some guests) were questionable! Nothing from the floors to the walls to the elevator looked covid compliant. Then when i reached the room(1221), the overwhelming smell of BRUT smacked me in the face at the door. As if someone had just left moments before our arrival. To add insult to injury, just one look at the carpet was enough for us to checkout immediately. I didn't even want to sit our bags on the floor. It was THAT bad! Ultimately, I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone that expects a safe, clean place to lay their head.

I wish I had read the reviews before I stayed here. The hotel is in desperate need of basic maintenance. The sink in the bathroom would not shut off completely. The water trickled continuously. The toilet paper holder was broken so the toilet paper had to sit on the back of the toilet. The sheets were not clean! There was a piece of a toenail and other body debris on the sheets. Yes, you read that correctly. It appears that housekeeping only made the bed after the last guest. I was so repulsed that I sleep on top of the bed sheets and comforter. The pool was closed due to out of service issues. The card readers in the elevators were broken. The room next to me had a little dog yipping half the night because no one was in the room. Rediculous. First and last stay here. If you choose to stay here, you've been warned.

It's the middle of the night and I wake up to use the bathroom and the door is LOCKED. It's just me in the room which means somehow when it closed the door jammed and I'm completely locked out. Take note -there are no phones in the rooms!! The only number goes to a corporate line (which in itself is a red flag - if a company sends you directly to corporate it's because they know they mess up a lot so they figure if they put people on hold long enough they'll eventually give up). THREE CALLS and THIRTY MINUTES LATER someone finally comes to fix the door, and of course they need to run back and forth to get tools. So it's now 1AM, they can't completely fix the door, and my options are to change rooms in the middle of the night or don't close the bathroom door again. SERIOUSLY!? Here's the kicker - 2 calls in I'm obviously annoyed because it's been 20 minutes, nobody is here yet, this is completely ridiculous and I NEED TO USE THE BATHROOM. I finally reach someone at the front desk and of course get mad because at this point I'm half asleep and miserable - so he yells and HANGS UP ON ME!!! I don't care what's going on, if you're in customer service it's your job to help people and calm them down, not make it worse! He was acting like an entitled baby and should never be allowed to work with people ever again. The worst part is, the room reeked of smoke but I was so tired from a long drive I didn't feel like making a big deal about it and just wanted to sleep. But it smelled DISGUSTING. I should have switched rooms to begin with and should never have chosen La Quinta. Since their terrible customer service was half the problem, I don't trust ANY of their locations now. To recap - the rooms smell like smoke, it's so run-down their bathrooms randomly lock from the inside so be prepared to get locked out, it's in a super sketchy area of downtown (would NOT walk around alone), their managers are terrible and quite frankly shouldn't have a job, there are no phones in the room so you have to call corporate to get anywhere, and their customer service is abysmal. This will be my last time ever staying in any of their hotels and I highly recommend staying...

After a long day of driving with 4 adults, 2 grumpy toddlers, and a dog we were ready to get to the hotel and go straight to sleep. This unfortunately did not happen. When we first walked in there was a long line at the check in counter, a good 20 minute wait. Only one person was working and she was very professional and handled everything very well. But there should have been more than one person working the counter with that many people checking in. We finally got our keys and go to our rooms. One of our rooms neither of the keys worked. The other was NEVER cleaned after the last people to stay there. Dirty towels all over the bathroom, beds unmade, garbage on the counters, floors, and table, and filled trash cans. On our way back down to get our rooms fixed we talked with two other people, all of us on different floors, who also had rooms that had never been cleaned. The receptionist was again very professional and got the keys fixed and us into a new room very quickly. We get to our new room and it looks clean so we start getting our kids ready for bed. Then we notice trash still on the floor by the beds and dirty wash clothes in the shower. By this time it was 11 PM and we had been at the hotel an hour trying to get everything worked out, so we didnt want to try and change rooms again. The hotel was also full of loud teenagers that ran up and down the halls yelling until 2:30 am. We tried calling the front desk several times but no one ever answered. I understand that it is not the hotels fault for loud teens, but every hotel before this that I have stayed at had a no noise policy after 10 or 11 PM and they enforced it, especially when large groups of kids were there. This hotel should have a noise policy and enforce it, or put all teens in a group like this on one floor so that others can get some sleep. They should have also been answering at the front desk. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is for the kind receptionist at the beginning of the night who was clearly stressed but remained professional, the decent breakfast, and that this La Qunita had the potential to be a great hotel but it fell completely short of a good...

This hotel is a dump and the area is extremely bad. The gate to the parking garage looks like it’s been broken for 20 years so the garage is wide open and the only people who protect it are the shady characters and homeless people that hang out in the entrance way. Also, the parking garage is very poorly lit. There are some lights on the same level as the lobby but if you go up or down, the garage is pitch black and extremely sketchy. Definitely didn’t feel like my car was secured back there at all. The door connecting the lobby and garbage was broken so you have to walk around to the side past the dark green pool that looks like it hasn’t been used in years and past all the homeless people and thugs congregating in the alley. Took the elevator up to the 11th floor and it felt like no one had been up there for years. The hallway was 85° and damp. Thankfully, the room was cool enough but the AC was set at 60 and running nonstop. Room was decent at first glance, but there were some chipped paint and cracks in the ceiling. Also some random paint splatters on the desk and chair. After laying on the bed for about 20 minutes, my gf and I both started getting pretty itchy and that was it, we decided to check out right away and found a much cleaner safer hotel 30 min down the road in Lonoke. While we were leaving, there were a couple homeless men in the lobby and one of them had dog that tried to attack my dog. Goodbye and good riddance. With the exception of the woman who works the desk at night, who checked us out and gave us a refund with no questions asked (I’m assuming she’s used to people fleeing this dump), this La Quinta is definitely the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in some bad ones. The friendly woman who works the night desk was the only positive thing about this place. Don’t be fooled by the 3.4 rating on Google, this place is not even close to that. I’m sure it was decent at one time under previous ownership judging by the older pictures but it’s really bad now...
