My experience at your hotel was nothing short of superb, and it is because of your staff. Every single encounter I had was a pleasant one. It went like this:
I arrived on 4/3/24 far too early for check-in. Lakiah greeted me with a smile and let me know she would do their best to get me in early, but offered for me to feel comfortable in the restaurant or lobby. She took my name and number and would call me when the room (431) was ready.
It was 11am on the dot and the restaurant opened for lunch. I was happily greeted by Melissa who was so friendly and helpful. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and it was great! I sat for a couple hours keeping myself busy, and even though I had already paid the tab, Melissa continued to check on me and offer me water refills. I was about to leave and hoped for some coffee - the head chef, Kareem, himself came out to my table with a to-go coffee and a smile. In full-service, we know how important the F&B team is, but how often is it when the chef comes out from the kitchen?! He was doing table touches and checking in on his team - I was so impressed.
I get a wave from Lakiah around 3pm that my room is ready! She gives me a hard key and wishes me a wonderful stay.
I am making my way to my room and taking into consideration the age of the hotel. If I am being honest, I expect a dull and possibly musty room. I was shocked at the cleanliness of the room! There was no hint of aged carpet smell, no dust, and I felt so comforted knowing there was attention to detail in this room. Great job to the housekeeping team on the 4th floor!
Minutes after settling in, I tried to kick the heat on and for the life of me could not figure out how to switch the thermostat from cool to heat. I called my pal Lakiah at the front desk and maintenance was at my door in under 2 minutes. (I was surprised once again!) Ryan and two others from maintenance arrived at my door, so friendly and ready to help. Ryan stepped in and reset the thermostat and ensured hot air was filling the room before he left.
I slept soundly in the clean and comfortable bed.
Thursday morning (4/4) I was joined by my colleagues in the restaurant for breakfast. We were waited on by Dorothy and Kiara - they were not only so kind to us, but helpful of one another. Together they kept our glasses full and our table cleared. The breakfast was great, but I was sad to see the fruit had run out. Within minutes, a very friendly cook comes out and tells me fruit is on the way! (I so wish I had grabbed his name, so please insert his name here!) Kiara comes to the table to tell me there are pineapples and pears on the bar now. At this point, I don't know why I was surprised - this is how your staff operates, at the highest quality of customer service.
I was gone for the day and evening, but wanted a cup of hot tea before I went up to my room. I was standing out front of the restaurant and a young man at the front grabbed me one lickedly split. While I was waiting for him to return with it, Tony came out and noticed me and was sure to ask if I had been helped.
My only disappointment is that I didn't have more time to spend with your wonderful team and in this awesome city!
Every small touch made all the difference in my stay. Things so simple, so basic, that so many forget the easy touches to make a stay memorable. Your team is spreading the light and warmth of hospitality and should be properly recognized for their attitudes, helpfulness, and memories they're creating for...

My wife, 2 small children, and myself stayed from 12/23 - 12/26. We stayed on the 13th floor in room #1309.
We arrived at 1500 hrs on 12/23. I was told by a front desk employee check in was not until 1600 hrs and to come back. I asked about an early check in due to my children but was denied.
After returning, we made it up to our room. We quickly noticed the lamp in between the queen beds did not function. When I picked up the phone to call the front desk about the lamp, I found the entire phone jack had been removed from the back of the phone.
My wife began to bathe our children in the bath. When she turned on the water it was a light brown color that eventually cleared up after about 30 seconds of running water. At the end of the bath, when attempting to drain the bath, the water did not drain. I called the front desk from my personal phone to notify them of the room phone, bed lamp, water color, and draining issue.
An employee showed up to fix the clogged drain. The water took approximately 20 minutes to slowly drain. The employee stated there was a clog further down the drain but the water should drain faster. We found out the next night after the children's bath, the drain was still clogged and again took approximately 20 min drain.
On the morning of 12/24 we had breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was good but nothing special. The eggs had been left in the warmer for too long and were over cooked. Fairly standard from what I've seen of hotel breakfasts but I've definitely had better. Not worth the $16 a person though.
As we left the hotel for the day I asked for our room to be serviced (sheets, towels, trash). When we returned at approximately 2000 hours we noticed our room was in the same condition we left it. The phone was still inoperable and the bed lamp was still not working. No new sheets, no new towels, and trash cans still full.
I visited the front desk and expressed my displeasure with the circumstances I found in our room. We were offered a room swap but I declined due to the late hour for our children (2 & 5). I was told while we were gone for the day on Christmas our room would be attended to.
Christmas morning we had breakfast again in the hotel. This time the eggs were so overcooked the entire pan looked like a yellow sponge. The bacon was sitting in a puddle of grease in the warmer. My wife and I elected not to eat while my kids had a bowl of cereal.
We came back to the hotel on Christmas night and again found out room untouched (with the exception of the lamp was fixed). No new sheets, no new towels and trash still full. I went to the front desk and got towels myself. Took out my own trash cans. Wasn't pleased.
Full disclosure, I was refunded one of the three nights we stayed there to try and make up for everything. The entire experience was lacking and I felt like we WAY overpaid for the quality we received. We had family who stayed at the Marriot just a few blocks away who said they had an pleasant experience. We'll be back in Little Rock in April and we won't be...
Read moreWe recently stayed at the Doubletree hotel in Little Rock because my boyfriend had reward points for being a diamond member. When we first showed up, everything was great. We were given our cookies and free waters at the front desk and check in was so easy. When we got to our room, I noticed this giant rip in the curtain. That threw me off because I remember the Doubletree being one of the best hotels you could book in Little Rock, and I was surprised they couldn’t even fix the curtain. I needed a shower, so I tried to take one. First thing, the hot water did not work. I ran the water for over 5 minutes and nothing. We called the front desk and to their credit someone came immediately to check things out. The pipes apparently get stuck sometimes, so the sink had to be run first, then you could start the shower to get the hot water going. Once I got in, I realized I couldn’t even close the shower door. The door was completely off the tracks and was just sitting next to the other sliding shower door. My boyfriend had to come struggle to help me fix it. Even then we had to be so careful with it the entire time or it would fall off again. Then after that, I realized the top of the shower gel was broken off and you can’t take it off of the wall so I was unable to use it. In this giant room there was only one bar of soap to wash your hands with and I had to resort to using that to use as body wash. I even waited at the front desk and showed this photo of the broken shower gel bottle to the receptionist and she wrote down our room number and told me she would have someone come look at it. We went out and came back and it was never sorted out and never heard anything else from the hotel about it. I didn’t care if they gave me another bar of soap, a different shower gel bottle, I just needed something. The equivalent of points used to price for this room should of been enough that I at least deserve some working shower gel. We also were never able to get our WiFi to work for our room. The pool was also "so-so", my expectations of it were a little higher considering this is supposed to be a high class hotel in LR. So, let’s get to the positives. Our view from our room was very beautiful. We had a nice view of down town and it was awesome being able to look out at it. Our bed was also soooooo comfortable! We both slept like a baby in it and I was able get some good rest. Overall, Doubletree really needs to update things. If it had some remodeling it would really be an awesome place to stay at. And if your shower gel is broken before someone arrives, FIX IT😊 If I would of been given my shower gel I probably would of never bothered writing this review. But this place does...
