The food at this place is WONDERFUL! I felt like I was earing food cooked by my friends' parents in Colorado again. The carne asada was cooked with just the right amount of char on the edges to give it that fresh of the grill flavor without being chewy. The cactus on the side was cleaned and grilled to perfection, and the rice was fluffy and flavorful. The refried beans were the best I've ever had at a restaurant. And the pupusas were nearly an inch thick and in addition to being hot and fresh, they were obviously made by skillful hands, not out of a bag from a factory. The corn tortillas also took me back down memory lane because they were obviously handmade and not those dry, flimsy tortillas I'm used to getting in an American restaurant. The downside to this place is you may have trouble with the menu if you don't speak Spanish, and the interior definitely needs a paint job. However, if you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this is the place! The plus side, too, is they're not busy on weekends, so go on in and get...

It is on the spicy side, so if you're craving a spicy soup this is for you. If I remember correctly, it's mixed with pork, avocado, and vegetables. Our friend got a few tacos and loved the lengua the best.
There is a salad bar in the middle of the restaurant. We went around 8pm, so it didn't look the freshest.
The restaurant is family owned; the chef is an Auntie who immigrated over from Mexico. Everyone is extremely nice. We were the last group in the restaurant; they were ready to close but they never rushed us out! We even got to sample some of the cheesecake ice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was there a couple years ago. The tacos were awesome, as was the menudo. The salad/toppings bar was spartan and not in good shape, but that may have been the day/time we showed up. The owner was very friendly and helpful. My (now ex) was very impressed with the lengua, tripa, and cabeza tacos (tongue, stomach, and head), which are meats that you cannot normally find at more mainstream mexican restaurants. I had a torta, which was generously portioned and delicious. The owner mentioned that he was in the process of sourcing goat meat to add to the menu, I'd be interested in hearing whether that was accomplished and whether anyone has...
