Just thought you would enjoy this review. :-) JP Nori Sushi Where do I begin with JP Nori? How about, a breathtaking Asian cuisine restaurant full of authenticity, and food fit for a king. Yes, that sounds about right. When you walk into JP Nori the changing lights in the entryway, the tinkling of forks and knives, and smells floating from the kitchen overwhelm your senses and suddenly you are thinking with your stomach, and not your head. As I walked to the table being lead by the waiter I was in this trance thinking only of how my stomach grumbled oh so badly and how my mouth practically watered gallons in my mouth. I couldn't wait to order everything on the menu! I started with the Teriyaki Salmon. A grilled salmon with vegetables drizzled in teriyaki sauce comes forth on a sizzling skillet accompanied by an aroma so strong even the strictest critic would not be able to resist the mouthwatering temptation. A tasty meal for even the pickiest of kids. Spicy garlic butter shrimp, where do I even start? The shrimp is perfectly sauteed with mixed juicy vegetables accompanied by a spicy garlic butter sauce so ambrosial vampires would gorge themselves. Another delectable meal for meat lovers all over is the sriracha beef. Beef stir fried with mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, and basil surrounded in a Thai spicy sriracha sauce is guaranteed to make any non vegetarian stop and stare at the dish with gaping jaws and watering mouths. A sushi place located next to laundromat? While JP Nori is in fact located next to “Drip ‘N Dry Laundromat” and “The Toad Tavern”, it’s rated 4.5 stars and with a price range of $11-$30, it’s easy to see why so many Asian cuisine lovers drop in to 5302 S Federal Cir, Littleton, CO, 80123 to get a truly palatable taste. JP Nori has not only excellent food but amazing service as well. the waiters make friendly conversation while serving you and even if the wait for food was only 2 minutes they still apologize for it! I wish I was that humble! Even if they’re humble they still take great pride in their work. Especially the chefs. You can immediately tell they take the extra time to make dishes for the waiters to give out as complementary dishes and sweet treats. Just smelling the kitchen makes my mouth water with anticipation. The gold statue of Buddha gives a relaxing feel to the room as people for once stop looking at their phones and stop to smell the sushi bar. While I sincerely enjoy the restaurant, a few perks may agitate some people and prevent them from getting their full experience. While no TV is a plus for me and a chance to make conversation with something other than my phone, many people love to watch sports or keep up on the latest news while waiting for or even while eating their meal. JP Nori serves excellent food and has even better service and yet is incomplete without outdoor seating. While outdoor seating would be hard next to a laundromat in a shared complex, some people enjoy a nice breeze ruffling their hair while they dig into their dynamite roll. JP Nori would not suffer if they found a way to include both of these things. JP Nori is not a bad restaurant without outdoor seating and TV however, it is quite the opposite. The dishes are out of this world, and the service is indescribable. The food never wavers in its seemingly endless pursuit to satisfy skeptical tastes and picky foodies. The friendly environment makes it easy to sit back and relax, while the chefs create fine pieces of edible art. Even if you can’t come and enjoy the restaurant, they do deliver their ambrosial dishes straight to your front door, so you can enjoy their creations at home. At 4.5 stars and an active website to check out, drop on by to JP Nori for an authentic Asian cuisine taste sure to make your jaw drop, eyes bulge, and...
Read moreI visit this restaurant regularly. And have repeatedly recommended th8s place. But i noticed, after alomat 2 years of visiting, some of the food quality declined. Still i would frequent. And purchsed gift cards. Waa just there for a company meeting laye Friday afternoon, and ordered their chicken fried rice to-go. Which I ocasionally order, and have special request, bc what is advertisedis NOT what you get. Kellie and Justin know who I am. Their chicken fried rice, I learned from repeated expensive purchases ($13.99 or$14.00) though advertised, has zero egg, zero green onion, and smidgen of bean sprouts, but worse, they add these huge amd long white chicken strips, non-breaded, sitting on top of the rice! At least 4 to inches long. Sitting right and entirely on top of the rice! Nothing chopped into appropriate pieces for fried rice that someone can enjoy normally. The chicken is the same length, size, etc., that they continually use in ALL their other chicken dishes! Look at their photos, such as Basil Chicken; and see the length of the chicken they use. It's the same chicken LAYING ON TOP of their chicken fried rice. When I called to JP Nori, to say, this type of chicken, laying on top of the rice, huge pieces, nothing mixed into the rice itself, is unappetizing, AND would never be found in ANY other Asian restaurant- bc it is not Asian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc, style. No one would find that in ANY Asian restaurant. After saying these things to Justin, the Manager, and that I noticed your restaurant is using the same chicken pieces you cut for all your other meals. I said, this is unacceptable, and that something has to be done to make it right, bc i didnt want to pay $15 for giant chicken pieces in what would normally be smaller pieces MIXED into the rice. NOT laying on top. Justin argued with me, and said in anger and in denial, said he'll refund my $15 dollars, but don't come back to his restaurant, bc i'm "making trouble".A customer stating chicken pieces are too big, lengthy and plopped on top of rice WITHOUT egg, WITHOUT bean sprouts and WITHOUT green onion as advertised, is "making trouble"?? This is the kind of customer service you'll get if you expect real quality chicken pieces, that are actually appropriate and appetizing according to...
Read moreFood is good, 4/5 stars. I had the Sunomono appetizer ($10.50) which consisted of sliced meats of octopus, shrimp, surf clam, crab (krab), cucumber salad mixed with ponzu and a light Japanese dressing. This dish was light, refreshing and flavorful, but small in portion size (more for one than two). I also tried the Mountain Roll ($14.75) which consisted of shrimp tempura, yellowtail, cucumber, topped with avocado, mix crab, fish egg, spicy mayo, eel sauce, scallion. Again, a light and refreshing choice, not heavy for a roll with fried items. It was pleasant and enjoyable. I ordered a few nigiri sushi pieces as well and each was flavorful, cut to a proper serving size, packed well and cold enough to ensure fresh treatment of the meat.
Service was a bit disappointing 2.5/5 stars. I was served my soft drink with no straw and requested one, the waitress said she would bring me one and 45 minutes later, I still had no straw (no big deal, I agree, but not the best service nonetheless). The only reason I would actually mark down the servers is because of their giggly (and, sometimes quite loud) interactions in the lobby area that persisted throughout the entire lunch as they ignored service at my table and the ones surrounding me.
Ambience, 3/5 stars. As mentioned before, servers giggling and laughing loudly in the lobby was distracting from the overall enjoyment of the meal. But, tastefully decorated and clean otherwise.
Oh, and one final note: If you or your companions are put off by idols, you might want to call for pickup or delivery - there is a very large statue of a sitting Buddha in the dining area. I only mention it because I know some people may find that offensive.
Pricing was higher per piece of nigiri than several sushi places I enjoy as much or more, so, 3/5 stars. But, isn't everything expensive these days? :-)
Otherwise, a decent overall experience and a tasty one, 3.5 stars - my compliments to the sushi chefs for my enjoyment of this lunch, they were the "stars" of this experience. I hope they received a portion of the tip I left them and it wasn't just shared between the giggly teenage...
