El Castillito Taqueria — Restaurant in Livermore

Love this place!!

Been there couple of times and it always a pleasant experience.

First & foremost the best part of this place is the love, politeness and hospitality. The staff is lovely. It feels like home. They feed you like you are at home.

It’s a very basic hole in the wall, mom n pop restaurant. The bright vibrant yellow color of this places makes it stand out.

They have a good extensive menu of all the essential Mexican food.

The portion sizes are HUGE so order accordingly.

We have tried, burritos, taco’s, quesadillas etc, everything was delicious.

The salsa bar is also yummylicious. They have fresh nachos, nice n warm.

The carne asada enchiladas were delicious & flavorful.

Forgot the name of the fish dish, that was a heck of dish. The fish was cooked to perfection.

The shrimp plate was yummy

Difficult to say which one was my favorite. I love everything here which I tried.

They have decent size indoor and outdoor space.

Its a little yellow building right behind the McDonald's on olivina. Privately owned by the very man who Rand up my order. I got the vegitarian quesadilla because it sounded good. Rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, cheese, cilantro. Yet when I got it there appeared to be something spicy in it. When I brought it back up it was the cook took it looked to the owner the made me one without it. Took maybe 2 minutes. Took maybe 5 min the first time.(other people ordered ahead of me) The second one was perfect. I went to give the cook a tip personally and he declined so I left it in the jar. I think I saw a smile on the owner face. Not a fan of the surprise salsa. But had it not been for it. I'd probably not be reviewing it. Probably wouldn't have enjoyed the 2nd one as...

First visit ever - Probably the only Mexican Restaurant in the city of Livermore & probably surrounding cities which from the moment you walk in, it not only smells authentic but fully grasps the authenticity from the alamo designed building,the artwork hanging on the walls to the lady behind the counter (Btw, spoke accordingly to each guest versus assuming everyone is Spanish speaking with a welcoming smile)..... Then the food came out - Wow! Not only promptly but on the dot with how it was ordered & even more importantly - So Yummy & fresh that even thou at first site it seemed like it was too much for one persons lunch serving, the taste over powered but not over filled...
