Junbi Matcha & Tea - Livermore — Restaurant in Livermore

I was happy to get to try this place. My friend and her husband own this location. It's a chain that is new and growing. This is the first location in Northern California. But there are locations in the LA/Orange County area, Hawaii, Pacific NW. There are 2 new NorCal stores opening soon in Mountain View (South Bay) and SF. I asked for a recommendation and she suggested the Strawberry Matcha Latte. Let me preface that I normally don't drink boba, coffee or tea drinks in general, I usually drink water or Diet Coke.. The drink, which is not coffee or boba, was really delicious. It was creamy and you could really taste the strawberry. I'm not 100% sure but it tasted like it was made with fresh strawberries. My mom got the Yuzu Dragon Fruit Matcha Cold brew. She enjoyed and said she was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't bitter like you might think it would be. Can't wait to go back again and try something else.

UPDATE: I was able to visit again. My kids were on Spring Break. So I carted my mom and kids to visit our friends the owners. I had seen a social media post a few days before I went there was a long line before the store opened. I was happy for them. They were running a collab with Miffy, an animated bunny. There were lots of items that you could get. My friend had sold out of almost all the merchandise. I am very proud of them. We all got a drink and enjoyed our visit. Oh a new menu item they did not have last time is rice balls. She said next time she will probably have matcha ice cream items and be able to incorporate the ice cream in drinks. I’m so glad others love guava as much as I do! I’m also so grateful they have oat milk to add to the matcha guava latte. my girls LOVE matcha and usually we go all the way to Japantown to buy it. So glad they are in Livermore! My family member picked some up for us but didn’t remember to get BOBA. But I won’t cry. I’m guessing we’ll be back super often iA. Can’t wait for more vegan, real fruit options

2nd visit- The Boba here is perfection. The Matcha is so good. This is the first time I drank my entire drink and every single piece of Boba. Since our matcha connoisseur is in town from Yale, we had to pick up some drinks for her to try. the Taro matcha with oat milk and Boba is really good with fresh chunks of taro 🩷and of course the guava with oat milk and Boba Matcha is good. I just wish we could get vegan drinks here that didn’t charge you for adding oat milk and Boba as an extra charge for both. Can’t wait for more locations and vegan options! Best boba...

this is my first time going to junbi! so im v excited to finally go to a location in the Bay Area since I've seen it so often online in socal!

i ordered the peach matcha cold brew - aka, they brew their Matcha like they would with espresso cold brew but no espresso inside!

what I really appreciate about the drink is how refreshing it was especially on a hot day or post hot pot 🤭

they have two self order kiosk and you can also order with the staff at the counter. their service was quick and I appreciated how the staff was patient in explaining what the different drinks are!

they are located in a pretty big plaza so there's plenty of parking and there are v limited indoor seating options in the store.

ambiance is casual and chill - would recommend trying something directly tied to matcha since that's literally what they're known for!! but definitely love to come back to try something different and explore the rest...
