Update: 02.12.24 Did take out lunch for our family. Food was good as always, pita chips were a nice addition, and a good way to use up day old pita bread. Falafels are average. We'd prefer a recipe with fava beans, these are heavier in texture and cooked as a batch, which can sit for a while. Lemonades are consistently delicious. Restaurant is clean, employees wear gloves. They need to remove the gloves before ringing up the order unless they throw out those gloves after touching the register.
Update: 10.26.23 Stopped in for lunch. Restaurant wasn't busy. This was great for us in the short term, but since we've never seen them very busy, we're concerned they may not remain in business much longer. Hoping they're doing a lot of take out & delivery orders, because we'd hate to lose this place as our whole family really loves it. Counter help still not particularly friendly, but that's perhaps just their nature. They serve up healthy food, including vegan dishes, and it's very tasty. When our family all says hello and thank you to the employees, they'll respond, so that's good enough. Increased rating to 5 stars since we go there for the food, which is consistently good.
Our family likes this place a lot as they have an interesting selection of hummus types and patrons can choose up to 3 different ones, although portions aren't very generous. We tried the vegan beef a month ago, but weren't too thrilled with it, so we order mushroom shawarma or falafels, which our family prefers. Wraps are quite good, too. Haven't tried the pita sandwich, it's the smallest offering, but looks good from what others were eating. More menu choices & tastier than Gotta Eatta Pita, and better tasting food than The Kebab Shop. Great fresh juice/lemonade choices: cucumber/jalapeño, passion fruit, watermelon, etc. plus a great variety of fountain soft drinks as well as bottled beverages, too Gave 4 stars because counter help did not even say hello, nor did he smile once or say thank you. We were friendly, too bad he didn't reciprocate as it put a damper on our outing. We like to give the benefit of the doubt, so we will...
Read morePlease kindly work on your customer service. I want to see this place thrive, but after my third visit to your location, I've decided I will not make HR my go-to spot. Problems: 1. Terrible disorganization. The employees are confused on what to do when I walk in. An older woman who works there saunters slowly, without any courtesy, to address customers needing assistance. Employees are confused on what to do, how to make a shake, etc. Simple customer service expections. Employees do not know what is or is not vegan/what contains dairy etc. I've asked on two different occasions which hummus is vegan. "All of them", I received on two occasions. Wrong. Two are not vegan. Fortunately, there is an online menu labeling the allergan labels on the hummus options, fortunately. The giant menu in store doesn't even have it. Moreover, There are titles for the food options on the glass, but no labeling on whether it's vegan or vegetarian friendly... It's a huge oversight. There used to be paper copies of the menu (in-store) with allergans listed, but now its gone. I asked about it this past weekend and some guy stocking the drinks lazily replied to look online. Sir, I am in store, in your restaurant and want to have a direct resource there. What if my phone is dead? Food is generally supar. The only really good options on the menu are the veg burger and pita chips. The almond-milk shake they have is watery and not even thoroughly mixed. You swallow chunks of dates, which is very unpleasant. The hummus wraps don't have complimentary flavors.. you're really not missing out on much by not...
Read moreFood was OK. The big long hair skater kid was very helpful and understood the meaning of customer service. However, the owner and the other employee were horrible. I would never go back. The ripped my wrap tortilla and could not roll it. So I told them to just put the it in a bowl and I'd eat my wrap with a fork. The owner, with unwashed ungloved hands, grabbed my tortill and "checked it out". He told his guy to roll it and give it to me ripped. I said no. They they wanted to throw the whole thing away and make me a new one. I did not want to wait that long. Then he wanted to charge me for the bowl. My wife and I ate lunch. For the two of us, no drinks, we spent $27. And he wanted to charge me for a bowl that probably cost him 5 cents. Had he just given me the bowl, I would not have even noticed the bad service and mediocre food. But now, I fought with him, told him to F- himself and threw a $5 bill on the counter to buy my bowl. I would hire the skater kid for my own business, but I will never go back to Hummas...
