I LOVE Vans.... I have been a long time fan. When I was younger I use to admire all the kids who's parents could afford to buy them Vans. The closest I ever got to a pair of Vans was a pair of Airwalks from Montgomery Wards when I was 12. But, now that I am able to afford to buy Vans for my whole family, I do just that! I love browsing the Vans outlet stores for unique Vans. I have collected quite a few pair of socks and shoes with their whole buy1 get 1 for 50percent off sales. The feel of the store is nastalgic for me. Although we couldn't afford Vans as a kid, we would once in a great while check out a store that sold them. I hate shopping. Especially at the outlets. Shopping in this store has changed my mind a bit about it. I went to the vans store for the first time yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised at the amazing selection of shoes for Toddlers. Most stores have very little for infants/toddlers but they have a huge selection. The great customer service was unexpected since most employees at other stores seem annoyed you are there and often sigh deeply when you ask them a question or need help. Or they racially profile you and follow you around or eye you suspiciously as though you’re trying to steal. Alison was super helpful and friendly. Worst customer experience. I do not wear leather and was asking the women at the store about the material of one of the shoes because I wasn’t sure if it’s leather or not. They said that Vans is not using any leather products and a lot of vegan people wearing all of their shoes and this shoe is definitely without leather. After trying this shoe I found a sticker inside which said that the upper side of the shoe is supposed to be leather. I asked again and 2 other sales women said that this is not leather.
