I couldn't believe how amazing the food was, what was even more unbelievable is the quality of the service, beyond excellent!
I ate here with my son while we were traveling back to Butte from Billings. I've wanted to stop here for YEARS, but it never timed out well... I now regret every time I've driven past without stopping; it was that good!
I had the Belafonte Shrimp Tacos which were EXCELLENT and a cup of Clam Chowder... It was the best clam chowder I've had since I visited the Oregon coast at a small ma and pa shack well over a decade ago. Even then, Neptune's may still be just as good or better, that just happens to be the closest quality I can recall, nothing else comes close, and I absolutely love clam chowder!
My son had a rice bowl and they let him add shrimp (for a small charge that I was happy to pay). He loves shrimp, thoroughly enjoyed his food too and also cannot wait to stop in again!
We shared a sushi roll, he's 10, so nothing too exotic, a spider roll. It was however done PERFECTLY and was delicious! I figured he'd maybe have a 1 or 2 pieces at most... Proceeded to eat half, maybe 1 more piece than half!
I really wish I could remember our server's name, I'm TERRIBLE with names, but she was awesome. You'd figure as much as we ate already we wouldn't want dessert, but my son did 😂 and I cannot remember the name of the dessert either, but it was one made using an Italian doughnut and ice cream that our server had recommended. She didn't steer us wrong. My son ate at least ⅔, and I ate the rest, even though I wasn't at all hungry anymore.
In addition to our awesome waitress, the lady working the front desk, as well as everyone else we interacted with, were also super pleasant plus the kitchen absolutely rocks. If it helps give credit where credit is due, we were here 9/7/2025 around 3:30pm and were seated inside on the south half of the building.

Read moreA group of my friends went to this restaurant this Saturday. Upon arrival 15 minutes EARLY for a reservation we were told “it’s not even 6:30 yet” which is when our reservation was. We were told it was going to be quite awhile before our table could be ready that one of the tables for our big party had just ordered dinner. Since there was 10 of us we decided to free up space in their resturaunt and go to a little bar next door. We came back around 6:40 and the staff seemed very annoyed to have us in the lobby. Received several glares, and the owner said in her response to our review that “Perception can be a funny thing” but I’m not sure how else you perceive eye rolling when making eye contact? We also were directly infront of the host stand and continued to receive this treatment. The drinks were fantastic along with our food when we finally got it. We have time stamps on our phones from when we got our food and it was an hour. When the owner came to discuss our complaints she was very dismissive and argumentative. Stated that it had taken 49 minutes for food to get to our table, whereas in the response to our review it was magically 38 minutes. My food was cold along with one of my friends, that was not even brought to the owners attention. Considering that 7/10 people of our group is actively a server or has been a server we were appalled by how the owner acted, and was even further shocked by continuing the argument on our previous review. In my experience you do what you can to make the customer happy. Not saying we expected much, she did comp a percentage off of our bill which was appreciated. But overall very poor customer service. As a server I know big parties can be difficult especially on a busy night. I just wish the wait would have been communicated, and that we weren’t treated rudely. It is truly unfortunate because all of us likely would have recommended this place because the food and drinks were so great. But they will be losing potential...
Read moreI've never had a worse dining experience in my life as I did at Neptune's a couple months ago. If I could give them 0 out of 5 stars, I would. Our server initially took our order of two beers and a couple sushi rolls. We then waited over 30 minutes before flagging her down for my partner to order another beer. ANOTHER 30 minutes later I had to WALK up to her and ask her the status of our food order (she was just hanging out by the kitchen talking to other servers) as we had an appt we needed to be at. She then explained to me that sushi is "hand rolled" and therefore takes time. Ohh, um really!? Two rolls takes over an hour when there are only 4 other tables seated in the restaurant?? She never ONCE came back to our table in over an hour to check on us. I'm a professional chef. I work in kitchens for a living. I completely understand and respect that some cooks are learning in the kitchen while cooking my food. But for a server NOT to communicate that to me and my partner when we've waiting over an hour for two sushi rolls is by far the rudest, most impolite and discourteous service I've ever received in any restaurant. There was no suggestion that they might pay for a round of drinks for us because of the long wait. No suggestion that they discount our bill. Please consider this when choosing whether or not to patronize Neptune's. If you have a few hours to kill, it might just...
