Together with my wife and a close friend, we recently enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Beirut Vibes. I STRONGLY encourage anyone reading this to give it a try. It is a brand new restaurant (May, 2025), vying for space in a very competitive market. We are real fans of Mediterranean cuisine, and this is the real deal. The owners are from Lebanon where they were involved in the restaurant business, and brought many of their personal recipes with them. They really deserve to find success here in America, and I hope you will help them do so. We enjoyed our dinner "family style", sharing the vegetarian appetizer plate, and then sharing a single main course and fattouch salad. There was MORE than enough food for the three of us, and the cost was a VERY moderate $50 for everything, including cups of a delicious lentil soup and goat cheese based dessert (Ashta and Honey), provided "lagniappe"* as new customers (*a Creole term for "complimentary" on a quiet Thursday night, which we very much appreciated, but something they may not be able to continue to do as they become more established). If you are accustomed to ordering only your own individual meals, you might find the prices higher than you are expecting, but I assure you they will STILL be well worth the cost, and you will have plenty to take home and enjoy later. The appetizer plate included hummus, baba ghanoush, labneh, tabbouleh, falafel, shish tawook, moujadara, and plenty of home baked pita. ALL of them were delicious, and wonderfully flavored, although the creamy baba ghanoush (a personal recipe of the chef) was far and away the best I've ever had (!), and deserves special mention. If you want to know what the others are, I suggest you go there and try them yourself! 😋😁 For a main course, we had Tawook Lemon Oregano, prepared with halal chicken. The accompanying rice pilaf was al dente and very flavorful. And the fattouch salad (included with the meal) was fresh and crispy with a wonderfully tart lemon (?) dressing. As mentioned in other reviews the interior was clean and pleasant, and the service was extremely cordial and attentive. The chef took obvious interest in whether we enjoyed each dish. They also have lunch specials listed on the menu, which we haven't tried yet. If you are in Livonia, there's no need to drive to Dearborn to get some excellent Middle Eastern cuisine... but I would recommend ANYONE in the Detroit area to give this place a try. (Sorry I neglected to take photos of our meal. We will be going back soon however, and I may be able to add these in...
Read moreUpdated review 9/5/25: The owner had contacted me because he wanted me to give their food a second chance. He was very nice about it. It took me a minute to get back. I decided to call the order in instead of ordering online to make sure I wouldn’t get special treatment. This time I ordered the chicken Shawarma entrée with fries and tabouli salad. The small hummus was so much better than the first time. The chicken Shawarma was honestly delicious. I also got what I think might’ve been the Beirut dessert. It was so good. I can confidently say that I would recommend eating here. One of these days I’m gonna try dining in.
Original review: I was really excited to try this place because everybody in their sister was talking about how great it is. I’m a big fan of Lebanese food. I decided to try carry out on a Friday night. The prices are high, but that is not abnormal for the area or the state of the world. I’ll start with the positive, the staff was very friendly and it looked very clean inside in the dining area. They were pretty dead for a Friday at primetime dinner hours. I was surprised because of all the great reviews. You could see right into the kitchen, that also looked very clean. The reason I’m only giving them 3 stars is because their Food was just not that good. Not five star good anyway. The hummus was very disappointing. It tasted like it only had chickpeas and tahini in it. I don’t know what happened to the garlic, lemon juice, or olive oil. My fries were underdone and the eight dollar small tabbouli/tabbouleh was just OK. I feel bad leaving this review, but I feel like there needs to be a balancing out. If you’re willing to drive just a little bit further, there is much better...
Read moreThis is the first time I am writing a review minutes after finishing the food. My conclusion on this place? I am impressed beyond my expectations for my first visit. In fact, I will go ahead and put this Mediterranean restaurant ABOVE many similar places in the Dearborn food scene. HIGH QUALITY food, AUTHENTIC cooking, & BIG portions!
Let's start with the 5PC Chicken Entree: delicious flamed chicken, well-seasoned and dressed and cooked perfectly; the rice and barbequed peppers were phenomenal sides.
Now for the Falafal: I normally never order this dish but decided its been a while since having it. Great choice! Many places serve average falafal and this is not one of them. 10/10 on this dish.
Hummus with Meat: This appetizer could fill you up on its own. The hummus was smooth and good texture, definitely not out of a can but homemade. The meat topping was much more than anticipated, they put a lot of large thin sliced meat strips.
Finally, the spicy potatoes (batata hara): CRISPY! CRISPY! CRISPY! And the orange tang sauce it comes with? YES! Delicious.
I will definitey be here again and am excited to try other dishes they have, especially their kabob. Highly Recommend...
