If you are from this area or are in this part of town frequently, then you know that finding a decent fast food place can be a bit challenging. It seems like more often than not no matter where you go, you're going to be getting a sub-par fast food dining experience in one way or another—whether it be terrible service, poor food quality, or excessive wait times.
What you will find at this White Castle location is absolutely none of the things or issues I listed above. I would almost go as far to say that this is hands down the best fast food experience you will have in the Livonia area. I do want to start off by saying that I have only ever been through the drive thru of this location so I cannot speak on anything that goes on inside (or how clean it is or anything of that nature), though I would imagine based upon how smoothly everything goes through the drive thru, that you would be getting a similar experience should you choose to dine in.
This particular White Castle location is situated in what is basically a giant parking lot maze that has some other businesses and places to eat scattered throughout. Once you've been here a time or two, you'll figure out the parking lot and things will make more sense. Something also unique to this location that you don't see at many fast food establishments in general is that the drive thru area wraps around the front of the building instead of the rear like most other places. But the way it's set up seems to work pretty well. Because this location is basically in a parking lot, you won't really ever have any issues trying to find a spot if you want to venture inside. If for some odd reason (maybe someone is getting married or something), all of the dedicated White Castle spots were taken, you could easily borrow one from a neighboring business. This location is also extremely easy to get in and out of (after you've deciphered the parking lot maze) despite it being situated along a very busy main road. It has a dedicated traffic light to get into the surrounding parking lot area, so you don't ever have to worry about waiting forever to get back into traffic if it is a super busy time during the day.
Speaking of it being super busy or having to wait a while, I haven't personally found that issue here, but it might be because I tend to stop here outside of peak dining hours. Based upon how smoothly this place operates in all other facets of business, I would imagine that when it does get busy, and there is a wait, it isn't a long irritating one like you might find at other establishments.
You might not always find a line here—which is great because who actually likes having to wait in a que to get their meal? However what you will find is a super personable, professional, attentive, and friendly staff that is more than willing to help with any menu questions or concerns that you might have. You will also find exactly what you ordered in your bag(s) when it's handed to you through the drive thru window—and everything that you ordered that is in that bag is going to be hot and fresh, just like it should be. What's crazy to me is that actually feeling like you're getting what you're paying for has become such a fleeting feeling when stopping for fast food, that it almost seems unattainable. What's even crazier is that I get that feeling when I stop here, not just because of the food, but just the overall experience. One of the best parts about White Castle as a whole is it's affordability—we're not talking about Filet Mignon or Tomahawk Steaks here, we're talking Sliders. White Castle does what they do (serve affordable and delicious fare), and they do it very well. Couple that with the excellent staff that they have here, and you really cannot lose.
When all is said and done, when you stop here you should expect an experience similar to the one mentioned above. I've been here a multitude of times, and the experience has been great every time. I will say that even though this may be a typical experience for those who come here it may or may not vary when...

This location is showing signs of wear and tear. Knowing that this location wasn't busy during a dinner rush, should be a clue that this restaurant isn't doing well. Therefore money may not be available to remodel the dining room.
When I ordered my food, I was served promptly. The order taker felt a bit cold as it seemed as if I was bothering her. The lady who served my meal was very friendly though. I ordered #1 add cheese Medium.
The drink station is one of those Freestyle machines with tons of options. The sad fact was every sugar free option was unavailable. I was highly disappointed as I always drink Coke Zero Sugar, but will drink other Sugar Free drinks when notal available.
The ketchup packets were a hot mess. Several packets were stuck together. It appeared as corn syrup spilled on them during processing. Not the restaurant's fault, but could've taken a few moments to clean them up. They weren't busy as a couple of employees were standing around.
The Dining Room was clean and orderly. No noticable trash or debris unattended. The lighting was sufficient and bright.
The parking lot needed a quick sweep as there was noticable trash/debris on ground. There was a McDonald's wrapper near the side entrance. It wasn't horrible, otherwise I wouldn't have stepped inside.
I have mixed reviews, but would give this restaurant a second chance. This is the strongest White Castle in Michigan, that I've visited.
Howell - tough slider meat and stale bread. Canton - horrible mildew smell in restaurant. Lansing...
Read moreI work at a company close to this location. On Sunday (2/24/19) at 3:05 am, I was instructed to go to White Castle and buy all the employees food for working hard and long hours. I get a list of about 75 items. I go to White Castle and inside was a guy eating food. Over the speaker he tells me “sorry we closed”. I asked him “seriously? It says 24/7” he said “yeah but we closed now”. Called my boss who said to just go to McDonald’s near by and order similar items from there. The bill was $175.86 (mix of meals and dollar items). The boss told me that White Castle is now off the list of places we order from.
Point of this true story is that, a lazy worker that didn’t feel like making food basically cost the company money. We usually don’t work past 8 pm, we constantly order from White Castle for the office at least twice a week. Not usually this big of an order, but we do so as a nice gesture to our employees when we have to stay late. It’s workers like this that make people stop going to businesses and end up costing the owner loss of business. If he heard the order and then said “we closed” I’d honestly take that better than instantly saying “we closed” and as I drive past the window, he’s eating food and on his phone. Management needs to find out who this person is and investigate how many times he has cost the...
