Calixto Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Livonia

UPDATE: today is December 6, it’s not an updated review to give this restaurant any negative stars ⭐️ actually if I could give them even more stars I would, today I placed an order through their website, I put in a special instructions if they could do something separate for me because I have to work and I won’t be getting off until later and it’s gonna need to be reheated. They literally deconstructed the entire thing and put everything separate for me., So far above what I asked because I didn’t want them to have to do much of a hassle for me, but they did it anyways on their own. I only asked for the chips to be separate, but they separated the meat and the cheese and everything so that it can be heated and put together later! This is what a good restaurant is they take care of their customers and their food is good, and a really good price!!!!!

Good Authentic food! I have been a few times this summer and have never been disappointed! The Quesabirria tacos are amazing , it comes with consume❤️ the fajitas are also yummy. Those you can choose your protein, I have gotten the chicken and the carne asada both are excellent. My daughters love the chicken street taco’s, nachos (with ground beef) and the chicken quesadillas. Each plate comes with beans (black or refried) and rice. They offer horchata- aqua fresca and can/bottle drinks, and fountain pop. Also their Churros are just amazing!

Also with a lot of the restaurants (in this area in Livonia) that offer Mexican, there is no option when ordering online to choose from a corn tortilla or a flour tortilla. I am allergic to the corn tortillas, and this is the only place that offers that when ordering online! This alone offers...

3/25 consistency; this place, never disappoints. There are two taco places, relatively new to the area, closer to my house and I think this place beats them- again, when everyone seems to charge almost the same price, you have to go with quality and service- We work too hard for our money to throw it away to places don’t have good customer service or who don’t have food that is good quality and delicious-I want the most bang for my buck and this place delivers! Best street tacos in the area (I wish they had Barbacoa), the best nachos- I wish they would offer the Elote in a bowl and not just on the cob-I hate getting all that corn up in my teeth and so messy to eat- 😁- their cucumber lime juice which they don’t have every day is so good. It’s refreshing without being heavy sweet. Wry nice service- I hope they do very well! People please support local small businesses 💜💜💜

*Enjoyed lunch so much, we went back for dinner- Ate in for first time and ordered their street tacos- $2.75 fair price as they are small- The carnitas, asada, chorizo and pastor are my favorites- The cilantro is hit or miss- Sometimes very fragrant/ tasty and sometimes no flavor- Their tortillas chips ( purchase, not free when you eat in) were tasty but did not like the red sauce ( purchase) it tasted like tomato soup- No heat- We used the sauce for our tacos on the chips- No pics, didn’t bring phone...

This is real Mexican food. Simple taco stand style no frills no fuss just good food.

Take out seems to be the preferred method but the place does have a few tables I'd say about 4 booths and 3 tables.

I personally had the fajitas which I thought were amazing. No big show with a skillet hot as the sun and a bunch of oil soaked food lit on fire. It was tender done steak, grilled veggies, refried beans and fresh pico with a side of rice. The only problem I had was I needed 1 more tortillas to finish the meal but didn't really care

Wife had a burrito which was stuffed with steak. I mean it was almost bursting but just done perfectly.

Then the chips and salsa. Fresh made salsa. Traditional red and Verde salsa available. I loved both but really liked the Verde on my fajitas.

We also split an order of guacamole with the chips and obviously fresh made but again no grills just good food.

Can't wait to go back!
