I have driven by this place probably no less than one hundred times, every time wondering why on earth the parking lot is jam packed. There could be a myriad of reasons a place is seemingly busy all of the time, and not all of them are positive. My curiosity finally got the best of me, and since I was already in the area for other things, I decided to stop by and see what all the possible fuss was about.
When I arrived, there wasn't an empty parking spot in sight, which wasn't at all surprising based on what I had been seeing while driving by all those times, but it was a smidge irritating nonetheless. I'm the type that just wants to get in, get my stuff, and get out as quickly and painlessly as possible. I quickly realized that wasn't going to be the case here. After waiting a few minutes, and not finding a pot, I actually ended up quickly making my own spot because I knew I was going to be quick (or at least I hoped I was going to be quick). I also would never recommend parking in an area that isn't a parking spot so maybe just look at this as a "do as I say, not as I do" type situation. Sometimes you just have to YOLO and call it a day. In this case, I am VERY glad I did.
When you walk in, you're probably going to be met with a line (remember all of the cars out front?). Luckily the friendly folks that work here are quite efficient, so the line dissipates rather quickly. Another thing you'll immediately notice is the amount of people that are just hanging out inside enjoying themselves (remember all of the cars out front?). It kind of reminded me of walking into a local breakfast spot more than it did being in a coffee shop. I could see there being a lot of business meetings, first dates, last dates, and working while using someone else's WIFI for the price of cup of coffee happening here. Honestly, there were more people hanging out here midday, than I have ever seen at any other coffee shop in the area ever. Even with this being the case, I had my Iced Latte in hand in less than five minutes. I was out the door just as quickly as I was in, and life was good.
Something that I was not prepared for however, was just how incredibly delicious the espresso is here. The quality is top notch, and the fact that they use whole milk by default is a huge plus in my book. Whole milk really does an incredible job at complimenting a good quality espresso shot. I drink A LOT of espresso, and the espresso they serve here is definitely in my top two of all the places I have been, both local, and from afar.
I touched on this briefly before, but the employees here are also incredibly friendly, professional, and efficient. In fact, the baristas here are some of the most friendly coffee shop employees that I've ever run across, of any coffee shop that I've been to. If you've been here, perhaps you would agree.
When all is said and done, I plan on regularly coming here not only because the quality of the coffee but because of how welcoming and friendly the employees are. I'll gladly travel the twenty or so minutes out of my way, past a myriad of other coffee shops to enjoy this superb coffee going...
Read moreI used to love coming in and sitting with friends or by myself, working. It was a place for community. The last two times I have been in, patrons have let their very young children run amok and nothing has been said by staff. This morning, the toddlers literally chased each other, running from one end of the store to the other, occasionally screaming for at least 15 minutes, while their mother and two other women did nothing. The staff came out to wipe down the creamer station but said nothing to the women. It was not busy at all - the hour or so I was there, there was often no one at the counter.
After one of the boys almost tripped on a chair leg, I finally put my things together and left. I took the sign off the wall that said "Parents, please keep your children by your side. For safety reasons, running is prohibited in the store" and read it to the women (and then put it back). They excused the behavior by saying "they're children."
"Yes" I said "and you're adults. It's not a playground. You'd probably sue the establishment if one of the boys gets hurt."
These women never brought out books or toys for the boys to occupy themselves with and before running around, the one boy kept trying to ask the adults questions, but they ignored him. So I don't blame the children.
The previous time I'd been in, it was very busy and two young boys were going around to all of the food displays, touching the packaging and running their toy cars over everything. That time it was very busy and very crowded, so it's very possible staff did not see how disruptive the boys were (I have no idea if these were the same boys but they were about the same age.)
I love kids. I rough and tumble with my own grandkids (ages 2-13) at home, but they if they started to act like these boys in a public place, we'd leave as much out of concern for their safety as for other patrons.
If there's a posted store policy that is so clearly being violated, I would hope staff would speak to the violators and ask them to leave if they won't comply.
I'm very...
Read moreI recently visited Coffee and Cream Coffee Shop for the first time and had mixed feelings about the experience. The shop itself is a nice spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a great place to get some work or studying done. There are plenty of seats, restrooms available, and a good variety of offerings including coffee, lattes, hot and cold drinks, pastries, smoothies, ice creams, desserts, and more.
When I arrived, I had to wait a bit for someone to come to the counter, and unfortunately, no one acknowledged me or mentioned that theyâd be right with me, which wasnât a great start. I eventually ordered a medium chai tea latte and a spinach & feta croissant.
The service was just okay, nothing particularly standout. As for the chai tea latte, it was also just okayâit had more milk than chai, which you can tell from the light color in the picture. It wasnât as flavorful as I was hoping, and I couldnât help but wonder if the barista might have rushed and didnât mix it properly or added too much milk.
The spinach & feta croissant was a bit of a letdown. When I bit into it, the filling was liquidy, which made the layers of the croissant doughy and less flaky than they should be. It wasnât what I expected, and I wouldnât order it again.
Overall, my experience at Coffee and Cream Coffee Shop was underwhelming. The place itself has potential with its comfortable seating and wide variety of offerings, but the food and drink I tried didnât live up to my expectations. Iâm not sure if Iâd return, but if I do, Iâd probably try something different on the menu and hope for a...
