The server was super friendly and engaging to all customers, she was very upbeat and friendly to everyone. The environment was what you would expect from a small diner, I enjoyed the nostalgia aspect of it.
Let me preface my review by saying, I came here specifically for the breakfast burrito after seeing several references and rants on social media about how amazing they were, and I am here to say that Leda’s breakfast burrito is a far stretch from being amazing and just barely makes the good category.
This was a grilled wrap with fresh eggs and hash browns inside and if you pick a meat they add it. I chose sausage thinking ground crumpled Italian type sausage or chorizo, what I got was a processed frozen “type” sausage link that was cooked or heated and sliced into about 1/4” thick pieces and put into the wrap. There was no cheese on or in this wrap nor was there any green chile sauce, cilantro or onions. It literally was a dry grilled wrap with a side of sour cream and salsa.
If you are craving this breakfast dish and looking for authenticity, without exaggeration you would likely do better at TacoBell or buying the frozen ones.
Originally I would of had no issue at all returning to Leda’s for food, but know that this is just another cookie-cutter Greek style Coney Island that lacks originality or flare, just food-service supplied processed ingredients!
My suggestion to this owner would be to learn what a breakfast burrito is, that or possibly just call it what he is offering, which is an egg and hash...
Read moreI saw the restaurant at 5 mile, and Middlebelt it was in a strip mall. I was hungry I thought I would take a chance the place was called ledas I really want expecting much. I went in and the restaurant. it was very clean and nice I sat down in a very comfortable booth I ordered a hamburger and fries and a coney dog and wow what a surprise the hamburger bun was soft and fresh the lettuce was crisp even the tomato tasted fresh it was solid not mushy. it was one of the best tasting hamburgers I ever had, and the fries were good too. the coney dog was real yes that right it wasn't some cheap nasty hotdog it was the real deal and it snapped when I cut it with the fork and the bun was soft and good, man what a good coney hotdog it was I haven't had a chili dog that good in a long long time. {I can't even remember} I Had chili and onions and mustard on it too. the prices were fair, and the waitress was very pretty and good at her job. when I left, I was full and happy what a great place I wish I could give it 10 stars lol go there its good you won't be disappointed, and my followers know I'm really on point...
Read moreLedas is the best coney island in the world!!! I have been going to this coney since before Eddie and Leda even bought it some 20-ish years ago. I'm glad they did buy it though because it's literally one of my favorite restaurants in the world. I know it's not some New York Times top 100 fine dining restaurant, but they are cheap, they have a huge menu, their staff is friendly and just all around awesome, and they have really good food and a handful of things that I would argue are better than you can find at any fine dining restaurant. I'm pretty sure their Chicken Lemon Rice soup can cure cancer and is the only thing I want anytime I am feeling under the weather. I ate their with my best friend on the day of our prom, the morning of his wedding and the morning of my wedding. It has become a tradition. I lived in North Carolina for the past 6 years and would get Ledas every single day any time I came back to visit family.
If I could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of my life, it would be Ledas...
