Usually, I would recommend Sapporo to anyone because I loved the food, BUT tonight was a major disappointment. My boyfriend and I decided to do the hibachi there tonight for dinner to celebrate late Valentine's Day. The server took our order and we told them I had an allergy to mushrooms and was unable to eat them, have my food cooked with them, etc. The cook proceeded to ask me 5 times what my allergy was before cooking the food at our hibachi table. The cook then cooked our food with the mushrooms and put it on my plate expecting me to eat it. Immediately, we told him I cannot eat it because of my severe allergy. He asked again what the allergy was and said ok. We told our server and he said he would check with the cook, but failed to do so and never returned to our area again along with the drinks we had previously asked for multiple times. It took us to track down another server to tell them to correct this issue, which she did - they made our food in the back. After this, we barely got to eat before our server came back and gave us a box and tried rushing us out of the area. My point is that if you have an allergy to a specific food, DO NOT go here. They simply do not care about their customer's health or the fact that they have severe allergies. Before we paid our bill, we did make a complaint with the manager where she gave us 20% off our bill, but it doesn't make up for the fact we wanted to experience a nice hibachi dinner cooked in front of us as well as an overall pleasant dinner out which we very rarely do. Very disappointed and probably will not be back. Please learn how to train your staff appropriately to food allergies as it's a very serious thing when someone tells you it's severe and that they simply can't eat something or have their food cooked...
Read morePeople be careful and look at your bills before leaving. They gave me the customer copy which said Pre-Tip Amt so I added a tip to the final bill (although I shouldn't have given them any tip for their service - read below!). However, on the way out I just happened to grab the itemized bill which was for "some reason" stapled with merchant bill. Today while going through the bills I found out that itemized bill already had a tip on it. Usually restaurants mention in their policy if their is a tip already included on their bills which they did not. Icing on the cake is their customer copy says Pre-Tip Amt. Why would the restaurant say Pre-Tip Amt on customer copy when you are adding tips to the itemized bills! This is clearly beguiling the customer. Picture is attached below. And another surprise is that the itemized bill was stapled to Merchant Copy - which makes me feel that they didn't want me to take it.
Now about the service... it should be a clear understanding that if someone asks for vegetarian sushi they don't want any fish. (Bad on me that I took my vegetarian friend there) The restaurant carelessly added fish eggs to her "vegetarian sushi". When she complained, the waitress just removed the fish eggs from the top of the sushi and brought back the same sushi. My friend was nice enough to just cancel the order instead of making a scene about it. You cannot offer fish eggs carelessly to someone who is a vegetarian! I wish I took pictures of the vegetarian sushi as well.
We were really looking forward to this place, especially as one of my friends had her two little daughters with her who had their first hibachi experience and were so excited by it. They even said it was their best food ever - but the overall experience...
Read moreI wish I could give them ZERO stars!!I will absolutely never go there there AGAIN! I went there for the first time a few days ago and it was awful. We ordered Lemonade with our appetizers and meals as soon as we sat down. Received my sushi appetizer and it was falling apart in addition to being disgusting. Once, I sent the sushi back, the server got an attitude and refused to come back to serve us period. Sat there through the serving of the entire table dinner entrees but still hadn't received our Lemonades. Fortunately, the manager came over after hearing of our dissatisfaction and attempted to rectify some of the issues (no white rice as requested, no beverages). Soooo, finally after 2 hours, the Lemonade come but they tasted just like water, no syrup, no sugar. When we alerted the server, she said "Oh, there probably something wrong with the CO2". I informed her that CO2 is not used for Lemonade and asked for a Coke or Pepsi. Then she told all of the CO2 was out and that they only had Lemonade or Iced Tea for beverages. I just said forget it and that I would take my bill. My food was terrible but I just chalked it up as a loss. When the bill came, I saw gratuity added even though we were a party of 3. Like what the hell?! When we inquired about taking the gratuity off, we were told that gratuity was required since Covid-19 pandemic, WHICH WAS A TOTAL LIE!! Tips are always optional. Last but not least, unlike Benihana, we had to fetch our own boxes and silverware and box up our own food.It was...
