Update: gave this place another go since the last time I came 9 months ago. It has gotten so considerably worse. They didn’t even tell us when our food was ready so it was cold because they don’t have a hot lamp to put it under.
The chicken fried rice, which was extra, was unflavored. The chicken itself is dry and overcooked. The worst part of all, which I didn’t even think it was possible, was that the noodles were very expired. It is even worse because we got extra. I can’t even describe how absolutely let-down I am.
I am done trying to get passable food from this establishment. Honestly it’s worth it just to go an hour away to Sagano at this point.
I will add that I called them to tell them about the expired noodles, and they were apologetic and offered me new food, but I did not feel like coming back because I don’t think they can make it much better.
Past review: I have eaten here many times, and their food is really good. The only thing is that the last 3-4 times it has been over salted/peppered, or extremely smoky-tasting, which has really disappointed me.
The most recent dinner I picked up from here had so much pepper it was so hard to eat, but I did not have time to go back or get it remade. I think the lack of consistency could start to affect the amount of customers they get if it continues to be like this. Honestly, not to be dramatic, but this last meal was over-seasoned so bad I think I may rethink coming here again, which makes me sad because I did like their food and the staff was always...
Read moreLove it! The steak dish was excellent. I just tried the scallop dish last night and they were cooked perfect. Sometimes one meal is enough for two people. However, it is so good that you may feel left wanting more. The past two times I thought to myself I will have leftovers for tomorrow but failed on the leftovers. That was even thinking on off nights if I'm driving past to pick up a large portion of fried rice to accent my home cooked meal. Needless to say I'm glad they opened one down the street from me. Kind of thinking that in addition to this seemingly simple menu could be a Chef's Inspiration Meal on certain days that allows the Chef to think outside the box and play around a little. She argued with me saying that “she asked me on the phone, what I wanted and I said what was in front of me” though I know that an Asian woman took my order. She then went on to explain to her managers that she thought I did my name was “J” when I clearly said “CARTER”. She lied and said that she repeated my full order for confirmation—when she only mentioned one part of the order. She had an attitude when I’m the customer and I had to get my card charged twice.
