I am writing to formally report a serious issue regarding my recent 19-day stay at the Travelodge in Livonia, MI. My experience at this location was unacceptable on multiple levels, and I believe corporate management should be made aware of the conditions and behavior displayed by the staff and management at this property.
During my stay, the room was never properly cleaned. Housekeeping only made the bed and ignored the floors and other areas, forcing me to personally request a broom just to sweep. The room also had roaches, which I had to kill myself. I even asked staff for bleach so I could properly disinfect the area something no guest should ever have to do in a paid hotel room.
Adding to the frustration, there was constant construction throughout my stay. The noise and vibration were so intense that the entire bed would shake, making it nearly impossible to rest or relax.
However, the most troubling issues occurred toward the end of my stay. The man identifying himself as the manager (“Bore”) was rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional when we tried to address our concerns. He illegally charged my girlfriend’s card $115 without authorization, even though she was not the registered guest. He also falsely accused us of bringing a dog into the room, claiming there was “camera evidence.” This accusation was completely untrue, yet despite our denial and lack of proof presented, he still forced us to pay the deposit and banned us from returning to the hotel. The following day, he went even further and told us that we were banned from all Days Inn and Travelodge locations entirely.
This was extremely upsetting, especially considering that both my girlfriend and I are Platinum members with Wyndham Rewards. We have been loyal guests and have never experienced anything like this level of disrespect or mistreatment at any other Wyndham property.
This entire experience was unsanitary, disruptive, and handled with a complete disregard for honesty, professionalism, and guest rights. After nearly three weeks as a paying guest, I left with frustration, lost sleep, and an unauthorized charge all while being falsely accused and banned for no valid reason.
I respectfully request that Wyndham corporate investigate this property, issue a refund for the unauthorized $115 charge, and take appropriate action regarding the false accusations, unprofessional conduct, and improper handling of guest relations by the management at...
Read moreI decided to book at the travelodge due to our move in date being pushed back til the 8th, we had our small Yorkie & this was the cheapest route SO I THOUGHT smh this place is the worse! From the time we checked in it’s been one thing after another! We arrived on the 1st at 2a (booked for the 31st-8th) in the room an hour and a half & I’m itching like crazy, I found a bed bug AFTER I checked the beds upon arrival, took a picture, called the front desk, they changed our room (not to mention when we first arrived I turned our water on & it was running red not clear) after telling us they’d change the room they called back & asked to make sure I take a picture, cool I take a picture, we get to the office, mind you I’ve been moving since 9a & didn’t get to the room until 2a were exhausted, we get into the next room, it’s cool I check the sheets, the mattress, I ran the water inside the sink & the shower for a few & we went to sleep, i wake up for work (working remote) once i get things situated at work i decide to shower, soon as i get in the shower i feel something drip on my shoulder, I look up, the ceiling has a long bubble line & two holes, water is sitting in the ceiling waiting to cave in, I almost broke my neck getting out the shower (it was raining bad outside) we contact the front desk again, they move us to the room next door, now the mattress uncomfortable as hell! Now I know this isn’t a 5 star hotel & we usually wouldn’t stay in ANYTHING like this but we needed something not to expensive while we wait to move… these people haven’t offered us any money back, nothing, just another room & we’ve been in 3 different rooms since April 1st 2:00a - April 2nd at 5pm ish… there should be some type of refund of our money, we’re not looking to cause any issues just wanted to be comfortable until the 8th smh so much for that! Let’s see what tmrw brings… mentally this place is driving me insane after they moved our room I had a whole break down in the shower because what could possibly be next… I wouldn’t book this...

I am a Gold Member with Choice Privileges, and I have never experienced anything as unprofessional and disappointing as my stay at the Travelodge in Livonia. My boyfriend had been a paying guest here for 19 days, and during that time we dealt with poor service, rude management, and unacceptable conditions.
One night, due to an emergency, we brought our dog in late. The next morning, the staff banned us and then illegally charged my personal card $115, even though I was not the registered guest. This is unauthorized and unethical, and I will be pursuing charges for it.
The management is extremely unprofessional. A man who claimed to be the manager (he said his name was “Bore”) was rude, dismissive, and refused to give contact information for anyone above him. He could barely communicate clearly and told me I wasn’t allowed to speak to the actual owner. His attitude toward paying guests was completely disrespectful.
As for the room it was filthy and also had ROACHES. The floors were never cleaned, and housekeeping only made the bed without actually cleaning anything. My boyfriend had to ask for a broom to clean the floor himself. The room constantly smelled like smoke, the windows were broken, and the door lock didn’t even secure properly, which is a serious safety issue.
For a property carrying the Travelodge name, this is beyond unacceptable. The staff’s behavior, the illegal charge, and the overall condition of the hotel are disgraceful.
