I Recently Had My Sonâs 5th Birthday Here At The Arena, 3/23/24. I thought Everything was Great. I paid for 10 Kids Which came to $170, I was fine with that price. Mind you my party was 2pm until 5pm. So I arrived at 1:30, they told me they couldnât let me in until 1:45. I couldnât understand why we only had 15 mins for set up, before our guest arrived. But still again that was fine. I went to the car got everything out. I came back in at 1:45. The theme of his party was Fortnite. So I had a banner and table cloths and matching party bags(16 boxes). At the door staff told me they will keep party bags in the office of the arena. I was still fine with that. Another staff told us, that when it was our time to eat. They will call it over the DJ booth. Also We Had A 30 min eating period because they have other parties to feed. Remember I said the party started at 2pm, well by 2:20 they announced my sonâs name, I guess our food & drink were ready. At that time majority of my party wasnât there. Also we are only allowed food in the cafeteria area. My mother was bringing the cup cakes and she wasnât there yet. So when my mother called I said just leave the cupcakes at home. Everything was good up until about 4:30. I was telling the children that it was time to pack up/ clean up/ return their skates, etc. As I got off the floor. Returning to Our Assigned Table I Noticed Another Family, Playing With A Toy That I Know For Sure I Pack In My Sonâs party Bags. But I Didnât See The Fornite Boxes. So I Said it could have been a coincidence that they had the same toy because I did get them from party city. So then I go to our table, and my little cousin walks over and said they Have all of Fortnite boxes on a different party table. So I got up and went to the office to ask, If They had passed out party bags. No one knew where my bags were. Staff told me that all of the party bags were delivered to the assigned tables. Our assigned table was on the far right side of the arena near the arcade games. The table that we found the box on was on the far left side near the cafeteria maybe about seven tables in between. (No staff came over to our table) ddWe Asked the mother of the little boys party how did she get our box. She said that staff of the arena set them on their tables and walked away! So I also asked her if she knew that her son had a Spider-Man party, why would she continue to open the fornite party bags & pass those bags out to all of the children of her party? She never notified staff that those didnât belong to her. Her excuse was she thought riverside was randomly giving them to her âAs Extras.â I told Her she Has To Rein burst What She Has Already Opened And Passed Out to her party. She proceed to argue saying âshe wasnât gonna replace anything and thatâs its riverside fault.â By this time itâs going on 5pm the parties were all over and everyone was leaving the arena. I notified 4 different staff saying they have made a mistake by giving the wrong party, our box. One of them Claimed That We got Up And Moved From Our Assigned Table. We never moved, because no staff came down there to us. So the party that took our party bags was all packed up and weâre heading out of the door. I asked to speak to a manager before they left, 30 minutes later No one showed me a manager! The owner finally came out 20 mins til 6pm, yelling at me and my family. âYou guys need to pay $15 for the next session (6pm-11pm) or go stand in the parking lot.â So my mother asked why should we go in the parking lot if our party was over. We were waiting on The manager or the owner to speak with us over Our issue about the party bags. I guess the lady with the gray hair was the manager. Sheâs the one whoâs always at the ticket booth. She proceeded to walk around us 4 to 5 times and not speaking to us at all she kept saying âone Moment.â So we waited . Then the owner jumps in my motherâs face yelling Slurs at us at well as threatening us with...
Read moreHad my sons 10th birthday party here, BIG MISTAKE. For starters, the wrong date was booked. Thankfully I called the day before to confirm, yet unfortunately I would have been better off seeking another roller rink to accommodate us. 2nd, the party was booked for 2pm, opening time. DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY. They WILL NOT let you in the door to set anything up and make everyone wait outside....including any other parties booked for the day. 3rd, DO NOT BRING BALLOONS. They confiscate the balloons at the door because they claim the balloons get sucked into their exhaust system. Would have been nice if they told us that before we spent the wasted money on balloons. 4th, DO NOT let the staff take your cake. You can tell them to not tip it, bang it whatever, but they throw it around like it is nothing and your cake will be destroyed before the candles are in place. 5th, in my case I paid for 15 kids (around $200), and had about 20 adults (grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents, etc.) They provide you with only 2 booths that sit a maximum of 4 kids each. 6th, the area they give you for the booths becomes a runway for roller skaters falling and bumping into everything/everyone. NO STAFF direction. 7th, there is a separate AREA for the kids you paid for to eat their 1 piece of pizza and non-refillable beverage. But wait, they are only given 25 minutes to consume their pizza, drink their beverage, then sing happy birthday and eat cake. In this area, there is NO room for the other adults who attended the event to celebrate their son, grandson, nephew, etc birthday. Plus this was not advised to us before nor during the birthday party! It was an utter kerfuffle. When trying to clear things up, the "party planner" was very rude and walked away when trying to talk to him. The staff was severely UNDERSTAFFED and very RUDE!. After the candles are blown out, the adult party attendees go back to the small booths in first area to hopefully enjoy some smashed cake. NOT. They DO NOT allow cake in the birthday party area. So no room anywhere for them to eat cake. No shocker seeing how the owner made it a point to stress that "attendees" pay nothing and basically take up space. Moving on. 7th, the cost per kid in the birthday party is $13 each. That is a NON REFUNDABLE charge for 1 piece of pizza, 3 supplied helium balloons, 1 non-refillable beverage, rental skates (whether they need them or not) 1 napkin and one plate. Didn't even offer free crayons or a party baggie of something inexpensive. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. 8th, DO NOT bother ordering food/beverages for the adults. The pizza is disgusting. The cheese looked and tasted like fondu. $15 for a large pizza that wasn't even worth the digestion. Then you ask for a pitcher of pop/beverage. NOPE, pitchers are NOT allowed in the party table areas. They supply you with 5 cups of pop as a substitute, yet for the same price as a pitcher. So 2 pitchers (10 cups) of pop and 3 pizzas will cost you $60. WASTE!!
DO NOT WASTE your money here for a birthday celebration. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND NOR ATTEND EVER AGAIN, unless new management...
Read moreBEWARE PARENTS DO NOT HAVE YOUR PARTY HERE! So today, I had a birthday party for my 7 year old son. It was at riverside arena here on Plymouth rd. I have got to say, it was the worst experience I have ever had in a business. First off, when I scheduled the party over the phone the owner sounded a bit funny and he said "sorry I had a bit too much nyquil" so that was red flag number one. Anyways, on the phone he told me that I would have 15 minutes before the party to come set up. I get there at 1:45 on the dot, I come in with my son and somebody at the front desk told us to go in. I walked in the door and owner starts screaming at me to get out. In which I replied "you told me to come 15 minutes early to set up" he then denies ever saying this. At this point I'm clearly upset, my son who has autism was really thrown off by him screaming at me and that completely ruined his birthday party. So we go back out as he screamed to us like we're criminals or something. We go through everything like he wants us to because at this point I'm just trying to cheer up my son. We go to our table and now I'm very mad because he told me that we would have a big table for presents and other things. We got two booths that fit 8 people. I told them that there was 12 kids coming and about 15 adults and he expected everyone to just stand I guess. So now I complain to staff about everything and they tell me that the owner always acts like this. They said he treats a lot of customers and employees like this. They were begging me to report his business! And when I told them about when I scheduled the appointment and he said that thing about the nyquil they said thats been the owners excuse the past 4 months and I guess he's going through a rough divorce. Divorce or not you do not treat paying customers like that. So after everything was done and everyone left I decided to try and talk to the owner to maybe get an apology or payment back or something. An employee opened the office door for me and the owner told me to come in amd very calmly I said that I would feel more comfortable if he stepped out of the office to talk because I felt threatened. He said and I quote "Well if you're not gonna come in then get the f* out". We then got into a screaming argument with him just trying to escort me out of the building and calling the cops. No threats were made, I wasn't screaming until he did. He didn't want to hear how horrible he runs his business and forced me out of the door because of it. How dare he ruin my childs birthday! I will...
