I, like, so many others, wanted to experience Summer Moon Coffee, on their Grand Opening day. We knew there would be a line due to the anticipation of a new coffee joint in town, but were willing to wait it out. When you approach the entrance, you are met by 2 ways of entering, thru double doors, or the opened garage door, already opened for convenience. The garage door adds a nice touch to make the out door seating feel like you're still a part of the indoor establishment, while providing fresh air flow during beautiful weather. There's also a kids area, where they have provided books to keep your little one(s) entertained, and a cozy lounge area by a fireplace. You have several items you can choose from, to show your support, like shirts/hoodies, candles, cups, & so much more. Staff were very friendly, & were quick to take care of a spill. Now, on to what you all have been waiting for, the coffee! So, this establishment, doesn't offer the typical type of dairy products that go into your normal Cup of Joe, but I'd like to think of it as a healthier version. This is what may make or break one's opinion about whether to give this change in flavor a chance, or continue to drink what they've been used to all these years. From having gone thru usually using whole milk in my coffee, to experiencing this new style of dairy, I could certainly taste the difference. One may think they can't taste a difference, but if you're like me, a coffee drinker, you will certainly taste it. For my first experience, I ordered the Mocha Moon Latte & the Moon Glacier Java Chip. In my initial taste test, they were ok. They weren't bad, & it didn't keep me from wanting to visit the establishment ever again. This first experience, was able to get a feel of what to expect, but that I could tweak the flavor the next time around, which I certainly did the very next day... This time around, I knew exactly how I needed to fix the flavor to get the best experience out of this new joint. I love the taste of coffee, that's why I go to places like these, to get my caffeine fix, & in my initial experience, I didn't get that much. I know they want to broadcast their healthier dairy version, so it seemed as though that flavor outweighed the caffeine. I knew just the touch the drink needed, ESPRESSO! So, for my second attempt to get the perfect experience, I ordered the Moon Glacier Java Chip, & added a shot of espresso to it. I also ordered another drink for my daughter, so I had 2 drinks in total. During my first visit, both drinks came out at the same time, yet this second time, when my daughter's came out, I was left waiting on my drink. I finally got mine after this other lady received her's, that had placed her order way after mine. In my opinion, don't call out orders unless you get the whole order together, or better yet, just fix an order at the same time?.. But overall, adding that shot of espresso made the drink 100x better! My advice to everyone that didn't have a good experience in taste with their first time around, use that experience to tweak it, & make it how you'll enjoy it! There was also a "Drip" station the very first day, where anyone could get a small cup of coffee for free (one per customer), but I didn't see it the second day. So, not sure if that was just for the Grand Opening, or will be a continued thing. I initially thought it was pretty cool thing, how people could just come in to get a cup of coffee for free, but now, not sure?.. I also like to ask about military discounts, & found out that teachers, military, & first responders, get $1 off their purchase. Not the 10% I was hoping for, but hey, it's something right?.. Overall, this place has definitely made a positive statement as one of our go-to's for a quick caffeine fix, & will be in many of our future plans to stop by. UPDATE: Just went here again, & tried the drink that was suggested, the Espresso Milkshake. Maybe an extra shot of espresso, but would definitely see if I can add Java Chip in as...
Read moreI can't give this place a five-star rating because I've experienced several instances where my medium hot vanilla latte doesn't taste right. It often comes out bland, and I've noticed this happens when it's made by someone with the initials GI on the coffee cup. I've reached out via email twice to address this issue, hoping it would be resolved. Unfortunately, during my last visit, GI was at the drive-thru window and openly discussed my concerns with others while I was placing my order. When I finally got to the window, her demeanor was unusually friendly, which is a stark contrast to how she usually behaved, often coming off as quite rude, and the drinks she prepared were just awful—far worse than what I’ve received from the other baristas. It’s a disappointing experience compared to the quality I expect. Can you imagine getting a dirty cup of coffee!! Wondering if the cup just came from the trash, good thing...
Read moreI work down the road and have never stopped here before. To be honest, I have always been intimidated by the moon milk 🫣 I decided to bite the bullet (after mistakenly trying another company in town with disastrous results) and was quite impressed. I like my coffee strong but creamy and a little sweet. At another coffee company I order a 7 shot white mocha with 1 less pump of white mocha….i prefer mochas usually and tried one here…deciding to get 2 extra shots in my large 😳 that was a very strong but delicious cup of coffee…tho I now order it with only one extra shot 🤣🤤🫣 The employees are always so friendly and patient, and kind! I just started a new job and ran into an employee at HEB and she was so nice and when she mentioned she worked here, she then explained moon...
