Do Not Eat here! I am a very easy to please person, but this place was exceptionally BAD. The service was very poor. Once we got our food, the waitress never even stopped by our table. We had to track her down to ask for dessert for my grandson because we were there celebrating a life event (which she knew about). She didn't remove dirty plates at any point. I ordered my steak Medium, and it was cool and not cooked inside at all. Also, the meat looked brownish like the meat was old. These people are not about serving their customers at all. When my daughter asked for jalapenos on her hamburger, she had to pay extra. When we asked for dipping sauce, same thing. When my son wanted his onions grilled first instead of raw, they had the audacity to say it would cost an extra dollar. I ordered dessert for my grandson, and the cheese cake was too hard and tasted like the refrigerator. We would have sent it back, but the waitress never came around. We ended up leaving it sitting there. These people were ALL ABOUT TAKING AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE, and giving minimal in return. Also, watch your ticket carefully!!! They add a 15% percent gratuity to the total. But, you have to study it closely to see that, as the total is in larger and bold print. My son took the ticket up and added a tip. They did not alert him that the tip was already included in the total. That would have been the right thing to do. But, these people took the extra tip anyway!!! Without saying anything! I wonder how often they do that... Bet it's often, be cause unless you read the fine print, it's easy to miss that they already charged the tip. I ended up paying $50. for a meal that totaled $35. (That was just for one person, as I had a separate ticket.) Every little thing we asked the waitress for when ordering, she told the cooks, and they sent her back to tell us there would be an extra charge. You would think they would have been embarrassed to keep asking for more...GREED!!! The restaurant only had a few customers on a Saturday e. These people need to learn that excellent customer service and high quality food causes people to feel good about their experience and their meal, and they will gladly return. Perhaps if they cared about their customers, their restaurant would be filled with happy people--people who tell others about the great restaurant.
Businesses do good to remember that their customer is their boss. Treat them well, and they WILL return.

Read moreThe Lockhart and Bastrop area are very lacking in good places to eat so it surprises me that this restaurant is not busy. The name is a little misleading as the menu is huge and although it has a lot of seafood, it has much more than just steak. Seafood is offered both fried and grilled. The restaurant is large and attractive. Our waitress, Nicole, was friendly and attentive. Husband ordered 12 jumbo fried shrimp. It has been our experience that most restaurants exaggerate size: jumbo usually is closer to medium and sometimes not even that big once breading is removed. Not in this case. Shrimp were JUMBO. Breading light and crispy. Not at all greasy. Cooked perfectly. Chose 2 sides: french fries and coleslaw. Coleslaw was crispy, dressing light, quantity generous. Wasn't the best coleslaw we have ever had but it was a good side for the shrimp. Did I say JUMBO? Brought 1/2 the shrimp home. I had the 6+6+6 fried combo of large shrimp, scallops, and oysters. All cooked perfectly. Scallops easily up there with the best I have had. Perfect size for sweetness and tenderness. Shrimp cooked well--large not jumbo but brought 3 home. Oysters disappointing only in size. Cooked well but small. Had coleslaw side and substituted order of hush puppies for $2 extra for other side. Hush puppies were brown, super crunchy and not greasy on the outside. Inside was dense cornbread. I liked them but they could have had more flavor. Condiments--tartar sauce and cocktail sauce--made in house. Both a little thin, runny without a lot of flavor. A glass of cold white wine at $6.49 was nice with the meal. We were impressed with a seafood restaurant of this quality in Lockhart and will be back. (I want to try the...
