J&S Pork Store — Restaurant in Lodi

I’ve been a loyal customer of this place for quite some time, and I’ve always appreciated the quality of their food. That’s why today’s experience was so deeply disappointing—not just because of the dish itself, but because of how the situation was handled. I ordered the chicken saltimbocca, expecting a classic preparation. Instead, I received something that frankly no Italian kitchen should ever serve: a beautifully cooked chicken dish with its own sauce, placed over penne marinara—two completely different sauces, clashing in one plate. Anyone familiar with Italian cuisine knows this is culinary confusion at best, and at worst, a total disregard for tradition. To their credit they did offer to remake the dish which I declined because I intended to try and eat it but It was genuinely unappetizing and later provided a refund which I appreciate. But when the cook came out to speak with me, his response was dismissive and unhelpful. That’s not the point. I’ve worked in and dined at many Italian restaurants, and I’ve never encountered anything like this. It wasn’t just a bad dish—it was a frustrating experience that ruined my lunch and forced me to leave work to return the order. I must first say that I am the most pickiest person with everything, but with my food, I'm very, very particular and anal. I had a taste for a turkey bacon egg/cheese. Well done, it is a must. I called J & S Pork Store and asked if they were still making breakfast sandwiches because it was almost 1 pm. The nice lady on the phone told me to hold on she's going to check, and she came back and said, "Yes." I ordered, and when I tell you, it was the very best turkey egg/cheese on the roll that I've had since moving out here to Jersey. I am so satisfied and happy that I was able to get that simply amazing sandwich today. I couldn't wait to get home and make me a cup of coffee to go with my sandwich. My daughter was home, so I told her she had to try some of my sandwich. She was like Omygoodness. This sandwich is fire. Where did you get this from.. I was like, Im going to send you they info Please tell me that I can come and buy that sandwich at least 3 times a week just how it was today, I promise to come early. Well people were nice , chicken sandwich was not bad ,but chicken was cold and sitting, the bay marine not keeping food hot, it was two thirty, food was looking well done and empty chaffing dishes, the tripe was tough and sauce was not cooked try roman style with pancetta, chick peas , it meds more flavor, the decor needs to look classier, not remolded, feels like a botega, hopefully it will get better, visenti was amazing place even Andy, dida good job cause Moro stayed with him for two years , they wanted to give the place the respect they deserved, been a customer for over fifty years, the name was essentially for this place , wouldn't changed it, I feel like the food being cooked is rushed ,more love in it will help, otherwise I'm not giving up on the place , I'm sure you will...
