Spartan Meal Preps — Restaurant in Lodi

This is a long review, but it's worth it as I've been a loyal customer for almost a year.

It pains me to have to update this review, it honestly does. I used to be so happy with Spartan. I used spartan pretty much weekly since August 2020, it is now June 2021, so just about ten months. Check out all the RECENT reviews (sort them by newest first), I think what I'm about to say is the overall new vibe.

I think they're too focused on their influencers rather than the people who have supported them for a while. There's only so many times you can mess up. I don't want a discount code.. especially when I'm not even sure my food is coming or if it's edible.

Recent and HUGE cons:

1. They've been running out of A LOT of meals lately. I'll get a text asking what I want for a replacement of the out of stock meal. Last time I told them I just wanted everything replaced with the buffalo chicken meatballs . They sent the regular grilled buffalo chicken. If you order from them, you know it's not even close to the same. They do this often. Ask what you want instead, and then send whatever the heck they want.

Actually.. sometimes they just send whatever they want and your order is totally messed up and you have no idea until you get it.

2. You're lucky if you even get food. The last couple of times my deliveries were so messed up. I go to sleep around 9pm for work as I wake up at 4am. The last couple of times it's been later than that. But that's not the worst of it.

• photo attached* 2a) If there's an ISSUE with your delivery, THEY WILL NOT LET YOU KNOW. I sat around ALL DAY to not have any food. I had to continuously reach out to them when I didn't hear anything from a driver on delivery day, only to find out there was an issue with my delivery. I checked back in later in the day, only to find out that my food would be delivered the following day. I'm lucky I even found out, and it's only because I reached out. My coworker also orders from them, and had no idea his food wouldn't be delivered - because HE didn't reach out. I broke the news to him, and we both proceeded to scramble to the grocery store to prep ourselves for the next day.

MY LAST WEEK WAS THE LAST WEEK AND HERE IS WHY

3. My food was SPOILED. By WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, it was spoiled. You get it on SUNDAY. Weds afternoon, I'm about to eat my low carb turkey meatballs: I opened the container, it smelled sour. The string beans were pale green, the zucchini was withered and wrinkly. I threw out the veggies. I cut open the meatballs to warm them up.. 2/4 are UNDERCOOKED and pink. I threw out the whole meal. When I got home from work I went through the rest of the food since I order for the week. I ended up throwing out ALL but 2 meals. Even then.. I questioned their quality. In the end, I tossed out EVERYTHING.

Maybe it's because they're transporting your food in un-refrigerated vehicles (not even in a cooler or anything) for HOURS when it's 95 degrees out.

By the way, the only options you have on their website to get your meals, are PICK UP and UPS delivery. For $15. I mean, if I could have dry ice shipped food through UPS, then yay. But they're sending drivers.. and you're STILL paying the $15.. for.. what exactly? You don't have the option to choose local delivery, which is what you're getting. So you're just donating $15 to them at that point.

There's only so many times sending me a discount code when they mess up can keep me around.

I'm finished with wasting my whole day Sunday waiting around, wondering if my food is even going to be delivered, and if it does, if it's going to be...

0 stars. Food never arrived. Scammed 200 dollars. Have sent multiple emails with no responses. I finally did get ahold of someone through facebook messenger and they said to resend an email. Of course that didnt work. Cant get ahold of anyone anymore on facebook. Just left a voicemail so maybe theyll return my call but I doubt it.

Trust the reviews of there not being any customer service. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.

Then why cant you respond to me right now then. I have called. I have left voicemails. I have facebook messeged you. Anyone check my ups tracking number right now and it will tell you it is under investigation. You are lying and not working with me. Seriously guys i have not wrote a false review this is bs.

And just because you responded once (on any platform) does not mean the issue is resolved. Or will be resolved.

20221007 update

Im a fair person and want to update everyone that i eventually was credited my money to reorder through them. I was pretty happy to see it. Wish i had my money back but screw it i already lost once lets see if theyll come through.

So i go to place a new order and find out my credit doesnt cover the shipping cost. I said nope not chancing 15 more dollars with this company. So basically im out money due to not being able to trust them if i have another issue. Btw this should have been updated months back. They didnt take this long to credit me. But i still highly recommend avoiding them unless they fixed their customer service since the beginning of my post

I tried the coupon code they gave me (under prior ownership) and they did not honor it after all the bs i went through. You know what makes it worse? Keep reading

After 2 weeks after order i had to contact them! After contacting them they said they werent able to find why i had my gracious coupon. So they werent going to honor it. Atleast fing call/email/text me. How long was this gana go before they told me this? I still paid 15 in shipping so it isnt like i wasnt owed money back.
