We followed the sushi chef of Kyodai, now owner of M Sushi Bistro. Wow, hands down the best sushi I have had in a long time! The Pink Orchid speciality menu my new favorite. Our server was okay (my wine glass had a noticeable lipstick stain when brought to me. I was brought a new one thank goodness) but the overall sushi experience made up for this new sushi bar! The sushi chef and his crew are genuinely engaging when you ask questions and there is a noticeable vibe of artistic/fun/we love making sushi in here. The flavors were out of this world and the presentation of all the rolls is amazing. You can tell the sushi made here is excellent by the taste, artistry and quantity of sushi made while you sit at the bar. There is a clear difference between just a "sushi place" and a local favorite. Must try again. Would have preferred more water after I finished a few of the rolls with jalapenos. Extremely satisfying first time.

It's a great place. Love the ambiance of the restaurant and the owner is wonderful and the staff are great. Its clean. I am picky with my sushi esp cause its raw but this place I love it. I tried different items they have its wonderful. I dont like brussel sprouts cause its bitter, I've other restaurants but here i love it. It was cooked to perfection it's not bitter and it compliments with the sauce. I tried the crab leg oh that was to die for, if your adventurous try the bone marrow ummm with the baguette bread it's good and the kale salad that goes with it the dressing is perfect balance of sweet n sour. They have a good Saki too it was smooth my friend called it big daddy. There are some pictures of food that we tried. Oh yeah try there New York Steak sashimi it melts in your mouth..I can go on and on about this place. If your looking for something new this Sushi Bistro brings a new generation of flavors.

Another excellent dining experience at M Sushi Bistro! The staff is awesome and always friendly and accommodating. Love you guys! Updated 07/06/2022: Took my sister and nephew here for dinner. It was their first time. As usual, we were warmly greeted by the staff. We were able to get a table right away. Our server was friendly and attentive, as were the other staff, filling our drinks and clearing our dishes. Both my sister and I had the chirashi bowls. They were filled with ample amounts of rice and topped with 17 slices of fresh sashimi - ahi, salmon, hamachi, albacore tuna, escolar, and octopus - with shredded diakon red cabbage, fried leeks, radish, and lime. My nephew had the fried potstickers and a bowl of seafood udon. Our meal was thoroughly delicious and so fresh. Thanks to Chef Minh, Hong, and staff for a fantastic meal!

We have eaten at M Sushi in Lodi a few times in the past and have never had an experience like this. We arrived at the restaurant with 5 of our 7 guests, and the other 2 were picking in the birthday cake. They said they could not seat us until all people in the party arrived. So we stood for 15 minutes while people came in after us and were seated. So the 2 arrived with the birthday cake in hand, so they finally sat us and took the cake to the back. We then waited another 15 minutes to get water and a waitress, while they other people who entered before us were already eating. Finally, a waitress arrived with some water, and at this time, we were nearly 40 minutes into this ordeal with 7 glasses of water, and at this time, our order was finally taken. Our food arrived 15 minutes after ordering, which put us around 1 hour into the ordeal as we watched people who entered before us leave. Food was sub-par and tasted nothing like we have enjoyed in the past. We finished up and asked the waitress to bring out the birthday cake, and at this time, she proceeded to tell us we could light the candles, but you can't eat the cake here! Why would they not say this as they brought us into the restaurant, perhaps it was the nearly $400 meal tag they would have missed out on as we would not have stayed. The whole trip was about our sons birthday, which turned out to be a complete waste of time. No good memories made there that evening, and no new memories will be made, as we will not be returning, nor recommending, and neither will our guests....

Upon entering, my male friend and I were warmly greeted by two to three Sushi/ Sashimi restaurant staff. He and I chose the bar to sit as I only craved a couple hand rolls or nigiri fish to eat. The friend of mine has had an exceptionally difficult last few weeks with today he most likely became dehydrated from exercise in the heat outdoors and excessive running in the sun. A male server brought waters after I began scanning the QR code menu and smiling, browsing the food options. There was no problem there as I did not have to wait long for a refreshment or to simply be welcomed.

However, the problem was when after about five minutes or so- an effeminate waiter came boldly over to my long time trusted friend who was quietly resting with his head down after a long tiring week and rudely said,

“Excuse me if you put your head down one more time I am going to ask you to leave.” No apology. No manners or just a “please”. Nothing. Mean and arrogant and discriminatory as this employee did not even consider people with disabilities and that my colleague may be ill or sick.

That is wrong and though I have seldom eaten at M Sushi, there are other kinder more professional and respectful establishments all over Lodi and the San Joaquin area to enjoy like Thai House on Sacramento Street.

I will never bother to waste my or my friends honest money at M Sushi again as I have much more worth than to be treated So inconsiderate. No thank you!

Bad review, DO NOT...

We waited 25 min before for the sever acknowledge us at that point we were given a brief “hi I’ll be with you in a moment”. We waited a few more minutes then she came over to us and we ordered a pretty decent amount food and drinks. The server brought our sparkling wine and small bites to us and accidentally spilled a full glass of wine on our small bites and all over the table. Creating a huge mess which took a few towels (dish towels) to wipe up. She continued to serve us after she wiped up the mess. (We said a prayer then were rudely interrupted with a “we can’t do anything for you”. We finished our prayer, ate then she brought one glass of warm sparkling wine and said she was going to not charge us for a lemonade (which we did not order nor did we have on the table). Then she brought the check. Not discounted at all. She told us she couldn’t discount any of the wine because her manager said no. We spoke with the manager, she was very rude and she too said they were not going to discount the wine (the wine was priced a couple dollars more on the bill then it was on the menu). She ended up taking $5 dollars off a $30 bottle of wine. Oh and did I mention they never gave us our $28 worth of Togo items. Bottom line is the manager was horrible but the food was okay. We...
