Update: The Hidden Tea Room’s Alice in Wonderland Event! On 8/30/25. I decided to bring my son this time ‘round so come spiral down the rabbit hole with me! Atmosphere: I felt like I stepped into a mini Disneyland experience with the Tea Party Decor and Alice greeting me and my son. Customer Service: As usual, the ladies in this establishment are always so attentive and kind. Kaitlyn and Dominique were serving one area of the venue and me and my son were served by Elizabeth and Alice. Elizabeth and Alice made sure me and my son had everything we needed, chit chatted with my son which may not mean much to most but to see my son who isn’t fond of new things, socializing and has sensory complications actually trying new things, enjoying and expressing himself AND being social that was everything! So proud of him! The Event: I am still convinced our server Allison was in fact Alice. She stayed “in character” the whole time. Your not fooling anybody “Allison”! haha. Alice gave us a lesson on how to address the Queen of Hearts (she did a REMARKABLE job!) We did trivia (we bombed that so badly) but none the less was a blast, especially hearing my son’s thought process on why it took 7 years AFTER the movie for the Alice in wonderland ride to be created. Food/Drinks (see photos) Very thoughtful and beautifully creative variety of 2 fresh pre-selected scones w/spread *drool*, pre-selected food/treats and your choice of tea which is served as a WHOLE personal pot of tea. Yah, you read that right! Scones: Bacon Cheddar with herbed butter spread and peach with cinnamon butter spread Treats: Mad Hatter’s fruit salad fluff, Alice's Cake pop, Cheshire cat’s earl grey macaron Sandwiches: chicken croissant sandwich, cucumber sandwich, roasted veggie spinach wrap, quiche I had the Mad Hatter's Berry Black Tea. You could definitely taste the berry; I added 1 cube of sugar to bring out more of the flavor but it was still tasty without it. My son had the Hot Cocoa and decided to do the same with the cube of sugar (Hey why not!?) Accommodations: Elizabeth the owner and the Ladies behind the magical dishes Erika, Leilani, Gia, and Clara are always so accommodating when it comes to their guests. They honored a special request for my 10 year old autistic son by separating fruits by likeness and away from each other. He really appreciated it and immediately noticed what you did for him. SURPRISE!: At the ending of our meal we were asked by Alice if it was any of our Birthday’s to which we replied “no” She proceeded to present us with our very own cupcake with a candle and wished us a Happy UNbirthday! Very nice surprise and clever! Price: For $50 per adult and $25 per child (event pricing) Do yourselves a favor and give this place a visit! Whether for an event or just because; your worth it!. This is for the Disney Villain event I attended on Halloween 2024. I know, I know twas many moons ago but it deserves recognition. As usual amazing food, tea, atmosphere and hospitality. The themed treats and food are always a sight to behold. My favorite; the pumpkin scones (made by none other than Cinderella!) were so fresh, warm and soft and the butter just added that nice touch. It is definitely a challenge trying not to gulf these down! There was a new food that I got to try for the first time. A sort of pasta salad which was interesting in both looks and flavor. (and it was in a cauldron! So cool! Took a minute to get used to since it had a mixture of things I would have never thought of combining but I enjoyed it none the less. The tea here tasted exactly as it is described on the menu which is rare for me so that was a delight. Last but not least hospitality is on point here. A straw, such a simple thing yet in my case was a huge necessity due to my mask. They remembered me mentioning this and when I arrived on the day I see a straw at my table! I didn't ask for this nor did I even think such a small detail was noticed. Thank you all again for the amazing adventure! You are appreciated.

What a "Hidden" gem in Lodi! During a visit with my sister in Valley Springs we decided we really wanted to enjoy a tea room. Elizabeth (who we later learned is the owner as well as hostess) graciously welcomed us in. It appeared to be a quiet afternoon which pleased us to no end. However, a group of mommies and little princesses soon arrived, which was adorable until they became quite noisy and excited. I had a discreet convo with Elizabeth and requested a table in the gift shop before getting served. She was absolutely wonderful and understanding and moved us immediately. The ambience and decor are exactly what a real tea room should be about; linen table cloths and napkins, fresh flowers on the table, smooth jazz playing softly and impeccable service. We indulged in the Royal menu offering and we're sooo happy we did!..I had the Milky Oolong served beautifully in a proper English pot and Sister had the English Breakfast. From the scones to the quiche and the properly made sandwiches and petite desserts, it was all elegantly done and served with grace. Highly recommend an afternoon tea at the Hidden Tea Room with a couple of your like -minded ladies who lunch. Supporting small local women-owned businesses is a fave of mine...you won't be disappointed! Kudos, Elizabeth!

Their shop is cute and they've got fancy hats you can borrow during your tea time. I highly recommend "The Royal" option. My apple cinnamon tea was great. I've been to plenty of tea times in the bay area but one of my favorite sandwiches is from here, the swiss cheese and apple! You also get 2 scones instead of 1 with amazing Devonshire cream & pumpkin jam (we visited in October). Their hummingbird cake was something I hadn't tried at other tea times and it was so good!! All of our tea pots were different designs and I loved that they weren't covered by tea pot wraps that some places use. Bring cash to dodge the credit card fee. The prices are pretty cheap compared to what I usually spend so this spot is staying in my tea room line up. Service from the 2 ladies working was very friendly. You can also purchase additional sandwiches to take home!!!

I debated if I would write a review on The Hidden Tea Room. Especially after COVID, I'm a huge believer that small businesses are just trying their best and we should all have more patience - but our experience here was so awful, I can't justify not warning others before they decide to visit.

I booked The Hidden Tea Room on Opentable a week in advance, and left a note documenting that I was bringing my 8 year old niece as a birthday surprise.

The special day came and we all dressed up for the occasion (heels, skirts, and all!). We drove 2 1/2 hours and finally arrived at The Hidden Tea Room. She was so excited when she finally realized what we were doing. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the worst attitude and told that a party was being hosted and we only had 1 hour. I was polite, even though I wished they had moved our reservation for earlier so we weren't rushed (again, I booked 1 week before this and drove 2 1/2 hours to be there) but happily sat down. There was an issue with my booking where I had accidentally put 2 and I meant to put 3, so they dragged over a chair for my sister who was joining us.

We sat down and our waitress couldn't have been more unimpressive. There's a few reviews here that I feel are speaking about this particular waitress also, as her attitude isn't easily missed. We sat down and literally one minute later she was asking for our order. I was shocked, but still, trying to be polite, we asked for a few minutes and quickly picked as she seemed rushed.

We received our order ten minutes later. The portion sizes are absolutely laughable. I say this as someone who's lived in France the past few years, and is used to very small portion sizes. My nieces side of grapes literally had 3 grapes. My sister, who has been living in England and has been to many afternoon teas, also was in disbelief. We weren't mad because it was so ridiculous all we could is find it amusing. As we ate and drank, the staff was moving tables around and gossiping. The ambience was so uncomfortable and weird.

Amusement quickly turned to anger when the waitress slammed our check down at the table, 15 minutes after we had sat down. I'm not kidding, I documented it on my phone. I asked the waitress If I could speak to the manager, and after arguing with me about it, she finally went to get her.

The manager proceeded to admit to me that she knew that they would be limiting our time at the restaurant when I booked my reservation, but she had decided not to call me. She dismissed how terrible our experience had been and gave me a small discount for my nieces meal (how generous, discounting 3 grapes)

This is the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I will never support a business owner who doesn't care about their community and invalidates their concerns. I'll also never forget the disappointed look on my nieces face, if I could go back we would have never gone to The...

The moment you step into The Hidden Tea Room, you're greeted by the warmest welcome imaginable—Elizabeth’s beautiful smile. She’s the owner and the heart of this lovely place. Her kindness and positive energy set the tone for everything that follows.

The decor is elegant and sweet—soft lighting, vintage china, and charming details that make you feel instantly relaxed and at home. It’s cozy, peaceful, and full of character.

The tea is absolutely perfect—expertly brewed and beautifully served. The sandwiches are fresh and flavorful, and the desserts are little bites of heaven.

My husband and I love The Hidden Tea Room so much, we make the 45-minute drive twice a month—passing up another tea house just five minutes from our home. There’s just no comparison. The experience, the quality, and the warmth here are unmatched.

One of the things we love most is how personalized it feels. The staff knows our names, our favorite table, and even our tea preferences. It's those thoughtful touches that make every visit feel special, like we’re part of the family.

The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. If it’s your first time visiting a tea house, don’t be intimidated—they’ll walk you through every detail, from selecting your tea to understanding how everything works. You’ll feel completely at ease.

And men shouldn’t hesitate to visit! My husband loves coming here. It’s not just a place for ladies—it’s a warm, welcoming space for everyone.

Elizabeth and her team have created something truly special—a place where you feel welcomed, cared for, and inspired to slow down and savor the moment. The Hidden Tea Room is a hidden gem in...
