We were in town for 4 days and found this on the first evening. The reviews seemed generally positive and I'm glad we gave it a try. We enjoyed it so much we went back the next night as well. Staff was friendly and cordial, service was fast, and the food was quite good. I had the carne asada the first night and the chili Verde the second. Both were good but I give the advantage to the chili Verde. The carnitas were tender and practically melted in your mouth. Pork dishes can quickly go south if not cooked properly but these nailed it. The Verde sauce was flavorful and complimented the carnitas incredibly well. Sides of beans and rice were average for a Mexican restaurant. Had better, had worse. They were also accompanied by a small salad that popped to life with the addition of some of our guacamole and some El Yucateco hot sauce. The step up Margarita Texans was incredibly tasty and pleasantly high octane. We honestly are considering going again tonight as I type this. Lol. I read the negative reviews and most come across as the classless bleatings of Yelp addicted Karens who should probably go back to haunting the managers of the nearest Ponderosa or Golden Corral and leave these nice folks alone. As for the reviewer who complained about his server's lack of English, I might offer that if your server in a Mexican restaurant speaks perfect English or is named Chad, you might not be getting superior Mexican food...just my 2 cents. I find Los Amigos to be a pure gem in Logan and they're lucky...
Read moreNot good, don’t waste your time! 👎🏼 Maybe I’m just used to the good Mexican restaurants we have where I live, but this place was bad all around. Service was slow, even though it didn’t seem to be very busy. 4 of us ordered margaritas, and we had to ask halfway through our dinner if they were coming because we still hadn’t received them - then the server had to ask us multiple times what kind and sizes we had ordered, and when we did get them they were not good. Tasted like they had no alcohol in them, it tasted more like it was the margarita mix you get at the grocery store. Not to mention, nothing on the rim and I received frozen even though I wanted on the rocks. Food was not good - rice was so bland and tasted like box rice, I got steak burritos and there were maybe 3 small pieces of steak in each burrito and the peppers and onions were completely raw and not hardly cooked in the slightest, and they were full of tomatoes even though it didn’t state in the menu that it came with tomatoes inside. It was all bland with no flavor or seasonings. All 6 in our party said the same about their food also....
Read moreJust ate here on Labor Day for dinner. From the looks of it one guy waiting every table and one cook. Lot of tables that needed cleaning. Waited about 5-10 minutes before we were seated but amazed at how fast the service still was overall!
Drinks came asap and food was out so quick it was almost as if there weren’t 15 other tables to wait on/clean or minimal staff. Took one star off the atmosphere only because it was annoying listening to the groups of other people seated around us whining about the service and how long they had to wait to be seated, etc. even though they were served even faster than we were. If you don’t have the patience for ONE guy doing the work of five then you don’t need to dine here.
Overall, server was phenomenal and the food still tasted great! No loss of quality whatsoever and we both got out for $33! Unheard of for...
