Very poorly run business. I tried it in early 2020 after it got highly rated. Fantastic. Planned on making it a tradition to go walking at Hocking Hills then coming here. Well, Covid, living on the other side of the country, and other things happened and I didn't get to. Went there again last year, and wow. Talk about a restaurant that tanked dramatically.
For some reason, the business decided to close off a portion of the dining room. We get there, and there were no open tables in the dining room. Only booths, which neither me or the person I was with could fit in. I politely asked the manager if I could sit in the table and she just said "Nope, it's closed." So then I said to the person I was with "F-- this place. Let's just leave and never come back here again." Then this poor girl working hears and was like "OMG What's the problem?" (I didn't know she was listening.)
I felt kind of stupid there, but I was like "Yeah there's no open tables there so I asked if I could sit in this table and she told me it was closed and I can't fit in the booth." Then she was like "Oh no don't worry you can sit here."
I was already there, but it still made the meal awkward. Like, I hated having to "make a scene" for better or worse to be able to sit down in an open table. I wasn't trying to make a scene, I was just saying something to the person I was with because nobody else was in the room and we were going to go somewhere else. The food quality had declined dramatically. The one server was super polite I'll give them that but the experience was overall ruined. Haven't returned back here and I have been to Hocking Hills...
Read moreSo we revisit it after 2 long years we rented a cabin for the week which will never do again not in Logan Ohio and of course we had to stop by to grab our favorite pizza. I did notice this time a really strange energy in the place we didn't stay to eat I decided to just do carry out. When I return back to the car both of my boys were very uncomfortable they said there were people coming out of the restaurant looking at them and staring we are biracial Caucasian African-American in Asian. I felt disgusted I didn't understand what was the issue. Before pulling off I decided to get a slice of pizza since we were heading back to town I had a nice drive ahead of me. So as I'm trying to enjoy my slice of pizza I got to witness it myself people stopping to stare the people in this little town they do not care for color people. I have never ever felt so uncomfortable in my life I almost started to fear for my safety. After coming back home I did some research not realizing the sheriff's wife made a racist comment on Facebook and it was like I instantly knew that was why I was getting so many looks and stares. So we will not be returning I don't think we are welcome and anybody else that's of color beware we are not welcome there. And the way I was raised you respect people's boundaries. I don't want to make anyone else feel uncomfortable and I don't want to feel uncomfortable either. I just wish things could be different because they have really great pizza. Rest in peace Pizza you'll be...
Read moreNormally I don't give 5 stars but because of the food and service this place deserves it. We weren't expecting high end decor and it was certainly comfortable and easy to have a conversation (the music was just enough and not over powering).
We are staying in Logan for a couple days and we got here on a VERY humid day 🥵. We were going to walk here but 1) it's very hilly and 2) did I mention the humidity!? It was a very short drive (2 minutes max) from our B&B (White Pillars, see that review once our stay is over).
Non-descript outside but very roomy inside. Nothing special but comfortable. We came on a Tuesday night and they were rocking...again that might have to do with the humidity 😳
We ordered 6 buffalo wings which were very good and a medium supreme meat pizza....that was AMAZING! I heard they were voted one of the best pizzas in the country by USA Today and they were not wrong (I don't care what your politics are re: the newspaper 😉)
With the frosty glasses of our Michelob lite we polished off most of the medium pizza 😳 but that is one delicious pizza for sure!!
Price is good, $48 for the 6 wings, medium pizza and (ugh) 6 bottles of 🍺. It would have been cheaper of course without the beer 🫤 but on this humid night it was a necessity.
Diane was a fabulous server. She was spot on for service, friendliness and answering our inane questions as non locals 😁
Be sure to get a pizza here, it is the best!! And give a shout out to Diane for her wonderful,...
