Definitely a star, one of the best buffets over on campus and in a good spot, the food is good and as a bonus, if you're a student here there's a 10% discount when you use the aggie express and the price also seems to cover the tax. (8.36$ as a student + 0.64 tax as a student for 9.00$ total as of 2018. The retail price is listed as 9.29$ base which i assume with tax comes to the advertised 10$ total). Or if you get a 25 block meal plan, it ends up being around 8.50$ around the mean.
Anyways the food itself is very good especially for a student buffet, the food always seems pretty good for a buffet and there are lots of choices and even features multiple cuisines.
For instance, in one sitting you can go down here and try 3-5 different cuisines in one sitting, you can try a bowl of teriyaki rice noodles at one, pick up a piping hot enchilada at another, and finish it off with say your choice. Trying the food so far, the Rice bowls of the asian market has been a favorite so far, but judging through the Italian alfredo bowls and shrimp linguinis seem to be a favorite. There's also a massive desert bar stocked with fresh fruit, ice cream, and a rotating menu of pastries and sweets such as cupcakes, and vanishing truffles (all of which seemed to rapidly been taken as quick as they brought them out onto the table, so they must be good! ), alongside ice creams with a desert bar stocked up with oreos, gummi bears, broken candy bits, and various toppings.
There's a huge variety and as for the USU students it's also a great place to study with the staff being friendly to studying students for exams and there even being both a public dining area with sports styled tvs for footballs and the news viewable from the windows. But also a hidden back room filled with fine woods and white clothed tables perfect for more formal settings (or just sneaking a computer back to spend a whole day working on a test). Around Lunch - 6, most of the people around tend to be students over on a weekday, but after 6 o clock more families start to show up.
Compared to say other buffets and meals up on campus, i'd say for the price definitely it is a buffet with great selection and convience both for the student to study in, and for those with a appetite for variety. There's more than enough for you to even try it all in one visit, you need to make multiple to get it all and even then, they're always having chef specials every few days to add on more items. Last time they had chicken cordon bleu with sauteed vegetables, this time the special seems to be bbq chicken with baked beans alongside gryos, and there's even a DIY Panini bar and cereal bar (for...
Read moreMy disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. The burgers, tasted as if they were boiled and while filling, were unimpressive (on par with the other savory food here). My hopes for dessert were rising high when I saw the selection of puddings they had available. But alas, I should have expected not only disappointment, but sorrow. As I took a stop on the sweets table I unsuspectingly ate pudding that was sour/ tangy - it caused me to gag for over 10 minutes. The only saving grace was the unlimited chocolate milk, but that is not enough to save my experience here. It is the college equivalent of sad elementary school cafeteria food. My rating: -5/10. The people need to know. Just go to the...
Read moreStarted with a noodle bowl, feels like a mini HuHot which is nice. Picked up a poppy seed muffin and peanut butter cookies. Ordered a beef burrito with salsa verde (had a little kick without being over powering), among other items I had for lunch. This is my first time reviewing this place, but third time coming to the establishment. I give all the stars because I love this place that much! Whether you're into pasta bars, salad, pizza, grilled items (burgers/chicken sandwiches/tenders), sweets, common Mexican (burritos, tacos, nachos etc), there is an assortment of things to pick up or order that anyone should be able to find...
