I would not recommend this place if you're looking to host an event. We rented their event space for a marriage ceremony, I'll list the issues we encountered along the way: disorganized team - their manager barely had time to speak with us about our event details. Any information we got from him, we had to hunt him down in person, even then we got half information each time. Example - we asked about the sound system, first were told they only have one speaker, then we found a second speaker ourselves by going into their backroom, then were told the speakers can't be connected together, which they would be able to be connected but one speaker wasn't charged. Then were told no stand for speaker, but we ended up finding one stand. Finally on the day of the event, we were told there is another option - speakers in the ceiling of the event space. This was NEVER mentioned to us before. We ended up using our own speakers. How do they not know the capabilities of their own event space??? CHEAP AND TORN UP furnishings - their tables and chairs, their sofas, everything is completely torn up and raggedy looking. Just hope and pray that your guests don't notice. This makes me really upset, this place probably makes thousands on a monthly basis yet they can't replace their clearly torn up furniture, or at the very least, have it reupholstered. They are greedy and just want to make as much money as possible without putting anything back into the business. We brought our own backdrop, our own centerpieces, and decor because they're decor is tacky, cheap, falling apart, old, and dirty. After we set up, we caught the eye of 2 customers who each were so impressed by OUR set up that they asked about renting the space. Little did they know, 80% of our decor was our own that we took back with us of course. Dirty/ugly bathrooms - The bathrooms here are ugly and not well maintained. If you book the event space, you will share the bathrooms with the restaurant, not a huge deal but the bathrooms are not cleaned. Also they're really ugly, they have softsoap dispensers that you buy from the dollar store as their soap, they have dirty stalls, cheap toilet paper and just ugly furnishings. Why would you want ugly bathrooms for your event, every single guest will visit the bathroom at least once during your event. These are not the bathrooms you want them to visit. Food - Over spicy and not that great, plain and simple. Staff - Besides the manager who was incredibly difficult to work with, the staff here is okay for the most part. However, I did notice the staff eating our cake at the event which annoyed me. The cake was something we brought ourselves from a separate bakery and was 100% ours, I'm not sure why the waiters would think it appropriate to eat it.
Overall, do NOT BOOK YOUR EVENT HERE. That's all.
RESPONSE TO OWNER: Our event was on Dec. 18th. If you're going to "address these issues" I recommend buy all new furniture, new centerpieces, new chairs that aren't dinged up and breaking, new AV, etc. That would be how you address the issues. Also to all the people commenting how "clean" this place is....where do ya'll eat?? Yea if you compare this place to a white castle, I guess it is slightly...
Read moreDo not go here. First of all, the atmosphere was plain and depressing. There were no windows and no decor. They had blank walls with unwelcoming cheap chairs and tables that appeared industrial and cold. The server could barely speak English and never introduced himself as our server. His accent was so thick that we couldn't clearly decipher what he was saying. He seemed clueless as well. We ordered 1 order of samosas which tasted good. The chicken biryani had bones in them and was awful to eat. There was barely any chicken, it was mainly bones. The biryani tasted decent enough, but I was grossed out by the bones. I don't think the server would even understand what boneless meant. I assumed that chicken biryani would be without bones because boneless is what I have been served over the years at other places. The chicken kabob was terrible. It was two compressed, processed rectangles (about 8 inches long and 1 inch wide) of "seasoned chicken" over a small bed of lettuce and a few sliced tomatoes and onions. For $15.99, I would expect much more than that. I thought they would be actual kabobs, but they were frankenmeat. Terrible! We didn't receive the naan until near the end of the meal. Usually it is customary to get that when being served the biryani. The mango lassis were tasty overall. The customer service was horrible. Our menus and old appetizer plate stayed at our table until near the end. We were the only customers there, too. They finally cleaned up a table nearby with plates and half-way eaten food when we were almost done. We walked in with that nearby table messy. Music? We asked several times and they finally piped in a song that was put on repeat over and over again that it would also get interrupted when their business phone would ring. The whole experience left me feeling really disappointed. I will never step foot in here again and I don't recommend it. Viceroy of India was the first Indian restaurant I ate in some 35 years ago in this same building, but it was cozy with decor and better lighting. This place is blah, with bad service and overall, food that...
Read moreReplying to Owner’s comment below: hahha “request” is not the term I would use to describe how you spoke to us. You both were simply aggressive and rude for no apparent reason, especially in Ramadan!!! Your first ever interaction with us was yelling not even a hello or how did you find the food (as all decent restaurants would do). If you had read the original review written below, you would know our upset stemmed from your aggressive approach. We were already mindful of not wasting food (we were 12 persons and took only 8 plates but paid for all 12) and also we were willing to let go of the fact that food was absolutely horrible (thinking chef was fasting too) but your attitude towards us was not at all acceptable!
Original Review: If you want to have a good family time at a restaurant, I would NOT recommend this place. They will leave you upset and ruin the whole night. Absolutely dreadful experience. I wouldn't even give this place a single star. We decided to go for iftar since they offered a buffet. Despite being a large group, we were mindful not to waste any food and took less than what we needed. However, the food was simply atrocious; we couldn't even stomach a single bite. Instead of addressing our concerns politely, the waiter had the audacity to loudly accuse us of wasting food. He legit came to our table and yelled loudly. No reason justifies his behavior. When we calmly explained that food is bad and we aren’t able to eat it and are concerned about our health, he threatened to double our bill and called the owner, who approached us with aggression rather than understanding. Despite our attempts to avoid confrontation, we were met with hostility. It's appalling how disrespectful some people in the service industry can be.
To the waiter and owner: your behavior is unacceptable. Being rude to customers will only drive them away. Learn to treat people with respect. While we understand that food quality can vary, there's no excuse for such appalling behavior. Will...
