Not my first time eating Slyce but I have avoided it because it’s always the same issues with them and other Lombard restaurants.
First off, spending money here is always taken for granted. $5 order or $500 order, you expect the cashier to give you the time of day to atleast smile back and speak to you in full sentences. However, this visit, I stood at the register for a whole 3 minutes and the cashier just sat on his phone, at one point he even looked up and looked back down to his phone. I just stood there confused waiting to be helped. All throughout our dine in experience, he stood there on his phone, not once asked us how everything was although we were only 7 steps away from him.
They don’t do complimentary water, only bottled Costco water that you need to pay $1.65 for. For a dine in restaurant, sorry that just doesn’t make sense. You can spend thousands on a wall painting but can’t give water to customers? Very poor design.
Pizza, we ordered 4 different large pies, nothing stood out. Pizza was droopy, not NY style. Pro is definitely halal but aside from that, underwhelming. If you want really NY pizza that stands inline with its reviews, ZAZA’s Pizza, and they also have a halal pepperoni.
Ps: I tried to place a to go order for additional family after eating, cashier was so unhelpful I decided not to spend any more money here. Just lost on a $55 order and all you needed to do was show you care and not 1 word answers.
Slyce, you have some work to do, and customer service should never be taken...

The pizza was massive and had that perfect “New York” slice texture you’d expect. The dough was fresh and had a wonderful "pillowy" chew to it. The ingredients were thoughtfully layered, well-balanced, and complemented the huge, thin slices! I thought the gyro meat was chopped just right—not too overpowering—and everything came together for a tasty bite. The fries were seasoned well and had a nice crisp to them paired with the warm cheese sauce.
One star for one reason:
During my husband’s second slice, he pulled out a long black hair from his mouth that was embedded in the pizza. He ended up spitting out the piece entirely. We hoped this issue was from our home, but given that we ate right after picking up the food and the hair didn’t match our own, it clearly came from the restaurant. This was a huge turn-off.
While I understand that incidents like this can happen in the restaurant industry, given that it was our first time, it raises concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen. It was incredibly disappointing and, unfortunately, I’m not likely to return, especially considering the competition around...

I Checked out the new wings offered at Slyce.
I ordered the mango habanero (6pc) and honey bbq (10pc) a slice of pizza while waiting for the rest of the group to arrive…and I’m glad I did. Bc the rest of the guys came, ordered, got their food before the wings arrived. Took atleast 20 min for the wings for dine in.
The wings were cut so drummette were separate from the flats. So 1 anatomical wing is considered 2 pcs.
The pcs were on the small size. Nice presentation. The wings were very hot (temp wise) since we were dining in. There skin had a nice crunch. Not overly bread coated. Minimal fat under the skin which I prefer. Generous amount of flavor sauce. Comes with a cup of ranch
Mango habenero flavor was on great. Not overly spicy. Good tang/kick to it. Spicy bbq is bbq sauce with red chilli peppers. Standard stuff.
Overall value is there. Would be better if the pieces were bigger. (I had the halal BWW a week ago as a comparison and those were almost double the size). Order ahead. And I believe if you eat them too late they become soggy. Which might be the case with any wings.
Overall I give these a solid 8.5/10. Will get again...
