Love the self-service concept of this restaurant. You can either order at the counter with someone there to help you, or using the iPad-like interface there. You can get the ketchup, tahini, salt, pepper, utensils, paper tissues, and water from another counter as you wait for your food. Note that both chicken and meat are halal (hand slaughtered).
We ordered the mixed meat platter with rice and tabbouli , and taouk wrap with fries and fountain drink. The presentation was great. Taouk wrap was very good compared to most of the sandwiches I try in the West,(only advice from a Lebanese is to ditch the tomato and lettuce and add fries and more garlic sauce in the sandwich to make it more authentically Mediterranean). The chicken kebab and meat kebab were the highlights in the mixed meat platter. I'm not a big fan of the beef shawarma- it could be more tender, chicken shawarma also needs to be more juicy. Tabbouleh was good but needs more lemon to perfect the taste and rice was ok. All comments are to make Pita Pita even better.
Overall, great value for money, especially the meat platter that can easily serve two people.
Music wise, I wouldn't listen to what was playing in the background and have more contemporary choices in mind, but I came here...
Read moreWent to Pita Pita for lunch this afternoon. I ordered a Baba Ghanouj (small) and Fatoush salad (small). The food at Pita Pita is excellent but the service stinks. Others in my family and friend circle like the food and I have catered from there and bought food many times, but today was the last time. When my order was ready, I asked the person at the front desk, if I could have some carbonated water from the machine and I told her that I wanted a cup with a lid. She said I would have to pay for the cup. I said sure and she told me it would cost $2.64. $2.64 for a cup with a lid! I passed on that. Then I noticed that with my Free order of Falafel there was no sauce. I asked her for sauce and she said it would cost me extra. I passed on that. I never imagined I would have to pay extra for sauce that should have been part of the order. I left with my food and opened my bag of food when I reached home. I noticed that the order was wrong. I got two Fatoush salads instead of Baba Ghanouj and Fatoush salad. I did not bother to call them back since I wasn’t looking forward to an unpleasant...
Read moreUnremarkable and unseasoned. I’m going to have a completely different opinion than most of the reviews I’ve read. That’s likely because I grew up close to Devon Street where there’s a lot of really, really good Middle Eastern food.
The problem with this place is that there’s no flavor to anything. When I first opened up the falafel ball, I thought to myself it wasn’t a deep green color (pic included) and you don’t taste herbs or seasoning. It’s more like a falafel bread ball.
I got the chicken Shawarma bowl and the chicken was very very dry (pic) it also tasted like it was chicken breast whereas at most other places it’s chicken thigh which tastes good even if you overcook it.
The pita bread is also flavorless and one you can find at your regular grocery store (pic).
Finally, the sauces were also very bland. Even the somewhat hyped up garlic sauce just tasted like a hint of garlic with a lot of salt.
They got stars for having a very clean restaurant and very friendly staff.
2 Shawarma bowls, a wrap and a side of falafel came out to...
