Veggie Grill — Restaurant in Lomita

VEGGIE GRILL: JUST HAD THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE WITH THE “MANAGER.” MY HUSBAND PLACED OUR ORDER AND WE SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR THE FISH SANDWICH TO NOT BE SPICY AND NO CELERY. I AM CURRENTLY SICK AND CAN’T HAVE ANY SPICE, BUT WHEN I WENT TO EAT MY ORDER, THE SAUCE WAS SPICY AND I WAS UNABLE TO EAT IT. AND THERE WAS CELERY. I CALLED TO ASK IF THERE WERE ANY SAUCES THAT WEREN’T SPICY. THE “MANAGER” LISTED KETCHUP AND MAYO AND I ASKED ARE THERE ANY SAUCES FOR THE FISH SANDWICH THAT IS NOT SPICY AND SHE VERY RUDELY SAID “LET ME REPEAT MYSELF.” I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND SHE SAID THAT THE SAUCE ON MY SANDWICH IS THE NOT SPICY ONE AND I TOLD HER I COULDN’T EAT IT BECAUSE IT WAS SO SPICY. SHE WAS VERY ARGUMENTATIVE. I TOLD HER MY ORDER WAS WRONG AND SHE VERY CONDESCENDINGLY SAID SORRY BUT WAS STILL BEING EXTREMELY RUDE. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER AND SHE SAID SHE UNFORTUNATELY WAS THE MANAGER. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO POORLY TREATED IN MY LIFE. I TOLD HER I WAS GOING TO CONTACT CORPORATE AND SHE SAID “YEAH, YEAH, GO AHEAD.” AT THIS POINT, I NO LONGER WANT TO EVER EAT AT VEGGIE GRILL AGAIN SINCE APPARENTLY THE “NONSPICY” SAUCE IS TOO SPICY FOR ME AND I GUESS THE STAFF...

Awful service. The cashier racially profiled us and stood there as if deciding if she wanted to serve us or not. I guess when she looks in the mirror she sees Debbie Boone. She purposely didn’t give us our receipt. Why, you ask? She added a tip on there, which we did NOT authorize nor were we asked. So I asked for her name and she said Melissa, but the receipt said Masha. We were close to finished with our food when the manager comes over to apologize for the girl adding a tip. I told her that by law, that is stealing/forgery and the worker could get in trouble for that. I then expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager and when I asked her for the district manager’s info, to send a formal complaint, she said she doesn’t know his last name. Really?! Who works for a big chain and isn’t aware of the big bosses? I go to other locations and never have an issue. After this experience, I encourage anyone who is improperly serviced to voice their complaint. This person should not be working in this area if she is going to act in such a way. Very convenient to order off the Veggie Grill app, but be aware that you need to call the store when you arrive for them to deliver curbside. Or else you can just walk in for pickup, too.

The Buffalo Wings were “meaty” but I’m not a huge fan of buffalo sauce, so it was a bit too spicy for my taste.

The Sweetheart Fries were okay for sweet potato fries, but quite oily.

The Quinoa Power Salad was delicious! Loved the sweetness from the raisins and nice crunch of veggies.

The Crispy Cauliflower was quite tasty, but probably because you can’t go wrong with battered and deep fried food. Probably not that healthy. The sweet-n-spicy orange sauce was more on the sweet side, which I liked.

The carrot cake was fine. Kind of like a flat, round disk, but it tasted like a normal cake with quite a bit of oil.
