Ordered steak tacos, with shredded cheese, 3 types of beans, lettuce, pico and mango salsa. The tortillas are fresh made there. They taste good but are almost as thick as a pita and flour. The steak looked yummy however the meat was mushy. I tried the refried pinto beans, pintos and black beans. The refried were dry and both type of pinto beans were chili beans. The black beans were non chili so I liked them the best. The lettuce looks like a Romano, crispy and fresh. All the food other than refried looked and tasted fresh. They had several salsas to choose from. The mango salsa was zesty but lacked bite. I asked for cheese and got very little. They had a variety of bottled Mx sodas and fountain soda, and agua de horchata. I was told the agua de horchata is from a powder mix therefore I didn’t try. A bigger variety of non-soda beverages would be appreciated. The restaurant was pretty clean, semi busy and several tables were not clean. We sat at a table with trash directly behind us which was a mistake. People constantly throwing stuff away which was a bit uncomfortable and noisy. The people serving/register were all very friendly and knowledgeable. They advised me that food is made fresh every morning. Also, good sized portions. The food seemed fresh however it did not taste like authentic Mexican food and was somewhat bland in flavor and mushy textured. They charge extra for everything including salsa. Salsa is a Mexican staple which is traditionally included in a meal therefore it seems counterintuitive to charge extra for it. 2oz $.50 cents, 4oz $1.00. They do offer bottled hot sauce (Cholula) for free. I suggest not serving food in aluminum to-go bowls. It seems very wasteful and the trash filled up very quickly due to size of bowl. So many companies offer biodegradable/environmentally friendly dishes nowadays. Why don’t you? This restaurant was ok, but definitely not a favorite. Similar to a Qdoba or Chipotle...
Read moreHonestly I really didn't want to make this review. My family has been coming to this location since it opened, its ben a staple in our family. We've always loved the people, food, it was always wonderful up until this last month. My dad went and got terrible food poisoning, my parents warned myself and siblings to be wary. None the less we still choose to go, healthy and a treat. I decided a few weeks ago to order delivery through their website, doordash was the delivery service, they stole my order and refused to answer the phone. Got a refund, went to lunch at the same location the same week and told a girl, whom I had my recent encounter with, let her know what had happened. We were still a little disappointed and didn't want anyone else to have the same issues, with their website. She was great understanding, toom the concern, made sure we got a refund. It was honestly amazing. Unfortunately, I decided to grab some lunch to go yesterday. I work nights, I waited in my car for 45mins for them to open. I hate to be the first person in the door, and I stated to the same girl I had spoke to the time before that I apologized for being the first person in, keep in mind their was already a line forming behind me the moment I walked in. She proceeded to rush me, didn't smile, and was upset the whole time she took care of me. (As well as the elder lady behind me). I've worked in food my whole life, customer service so on. Regardless of the stress or running behind, I'd never treat someone like that and reflect their energy on to others. I'm not going to be going again, and will.be encouraging my family to go else where. It was a very disheartening experience. Thank you to this location for your years, but with the current/ or how the management is, I cannot support...
