I would not recommend this establishment not because of the food but because of the incredibly rude service. My family had made a reservation for 11 to celebrate my engagement the day prior. We were all incredibly happy about the event and could not wait to celebrate. When we arrived a few minutes late for our reservation we were told by the hostess Tiffany that our table had been given away despite having a credit card on file to hold the reservation and confirming the reservation earlier in the day. Instead of trying to find a solution to accommodate our party, Tiffany proceeded to argue with us and roll her eyes, laughing about the situation. I have never in my life met such an unprofessional and downright nasty individual. I would never want someone like this working for me, let alone in the restaurant business. When I leaned over to tell my Mother how rude she was being she screamed across at me that she has been working in the food industry for 18 years and knows what sheâs doing. Given the display of her immature and unprofessional behavior you would never know it. The manager was able to diffuse the situation and accommodate our party and our waitress Ashley was lovely and salvaged the night for us. Needless to say, I will not be returning to a place that allows their employees to treat patrons of their restaurant so rudely, especially when they are there to celebrate an important event. Absolutely do not recommend if you have a large party or are celebrating something important. Unreliable reservations. There are plenty of other seafood restaurants in LBI that would not treat their...
Read moreDecent food, but portions have shrunk and it is extremely noisy. But my biggest disappointment is in the way they've trained their waitstaff. I experienced a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence as I was leaving this evening. When the waiter brought the bill for our party of 8 and handed it to my wife, she heard him say "gratuity is included," and she relayed this message to me as he was standing at our table, and as she handed me the bill to sign. Logically, I did not add a tip. In reality, he must have told her "gratuity is not included." But, instead of politely correcting her misunderstanding, he returned to our table 30 seconds later (while we were still finishing our meal) and picked up the signed check. To be clear - I have been dining out for 40 years and I have never witnessed a waiter pick up a signed bill before I leave the table, unless the restaurant is closing. Five minutes later, he followed us to the parking lot to find out if "there was a problem with the service." The only problem with the service was in the way in which he disingenuously handled a misunderstanding of which he was clearly aware - i.e., he clearly realized that my wife misheard him; otherwise, he would have done as he has been trained and not picked up the bill while we were still finishing our meal. In other words, he could have corrected her mishearing at the time he heard it - or even after he picked up the bill while we were still at our table - instead of following us to the parking lot. For the record - outside of this odd situation, our waiter was very polite and ended up with a tip that was...
Read moreThe 5 stars are because of the great food...not the atmosphere or the service. The fried lobster is wonderful. I got 5 pieces of lobster that looked to be tail halves. Good bread, adequate salad. Wife got seafood combo, also very good, loved the crab cake. A nice option other than potatoes was asparagus with no up charge. The asparagus was fresh, nicely done, not overcooked. Rolls also good. Service is adequate, a little slow but that might have been the kitchen getting behind.
They do not take reservations. We got there (Saturday night) around 6:45 and had a little more than a half hour wait. You can look at the boats at the marina! Near the end of our wait they were telling new comers 1 1/2 hours. This place is LOUD. Not cozy, quiet, and romantic. It is neat and clean, but loud. It seems to be mostly locals dining here. It is BYOB and lots of people do just that. Don't think there is a corking fee as most of what I saw was people opening their own bottles (except for some that forgot the corkscrew LOL). This place is well rehearsed at turning over tables. We were watching this one young woman. A table of six left, and within 3.5 minutes she had QUIETLY cleared the table and reset it for six again. We were timing her for fun, and she was consistent and fun to watch. Dessert options were not impressive, in fact, the dessert menu was exactly the same as where we ate last night...this area needs improvement. We did not order dessert. Pictured is the lobster and the combo. (Lemons already removed from the one plate...they are generous with...
