We came on a Wednesday night. We made reservations for the patio. When we got there, the hostess dropped one of the kids' paper drawing menu on the ground as she was walking us to the table...and picked it back up (then later laid it on the table) without batting an eye. That should have been a signal to us of things to come. The atmosphere and view were wonderful. The waitress was nice enough but not very attentive. We were there as 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids ordered sushi and an item off the kids' menu. We ordered half a dozen oysters on the shell and one if the specials of the day, the "Wagyu tomahawk steak." The kids' meal and sushi came out fine; the kids wolfed them down. The oysters...we can't be sure but, after counting, we think one was just a shell. We didn't say anything because we didn't check before we started eating (but who would think to check?). The worst part of the night was the "Wagyu tomahawk steak." It came out with the meat separated from the bone (not unexpected) but the meat still on thr bone and the border of the pre-sliced pieces were completely charred. We ordered medium rare and yet the meat itself was so chewy, no hint of marbling as is expected of Wagyu. They also forgot the mushroom sauce that was supposed to come with the steak. For a "surf and turf" restaurant they also could barely find a steak knife so my husband and I had to share one. It was dark; we gave each of the kids/adults a piece of the pre-sliced steak. I and my older son thought the outside tasted charred but were ok to finish our pieces. My husband and younger son right away said it was too charred to finish. I was just going to let it go but my husband who is a steak eater could not. He let the waitress know that he thought the steak was way too charred. She took it into the chef and came back trying to school us that tomahawk steaks are supposed to be like that. She also said if we had said something at the beginning, the chef might have been able to do something. Do what? Char another piece of steak for us? Not to mention, we told her as soon as she showed up. It was probably a good 20-30 minutes from time the they served us the steak to the time she finally came around for us to let her know. We showed her how charred the meat on the bone was and she tried to tell us we're not supposed to eat that part (there was a good amount of meat on the bones.) We tried to show her how charred the outside of the pre-sliced pieces were and she said she couldn't do anything because we ate a lot of it. We took 4 pieces, there were 4 left. I guess she couldn't see the pieces on my husband's plate that he spit out or the borders of my son's piece he had to cut out. We even told her we're not trying to get compensation for it, just to let her know her know this is not how tomahawk steak (much less Wagyu) is supposed to be. She kept trying to argue with us. All in all, it was a frustrating experience. The view was wonderful and the live music was fun but the food was horrible and the service was subpar. It's too bad. This is our first time in this area. It seems like a cute place but the experience so soured us we likely...
Read moreI gave the restaurant 1 star because of the food. The food was great, but unfortunately our waitress chastising and reprimanding us about her tip was not. The whole dining experience was tainted by her and her attitude. My friend recommended this restaurant to our friend group because she had been twice before and liked it. My other two friends and I had never been here before. From the moment my friends arrived, they said our server, Justine, was rude to them and rushing them to order something. Once I arrived, I saw her attitude as well. She brought me a used glass of water. The glass had a hot pink lipstick stain around the rim. So, she didn’t look at the glass before she served it to me. Again, she came rushing us to place an order as we were looking at the menu options and I made her aware of my glass. She wanted to replace the water after she got our orders, so this time we ordered. She brought my new water and our drinks. She came to check on us once more after that once the food came out and came to collect plates once we were done. That’s all the service she provided. She perked up a bit when she brought the checks out. Once we paid our tabs, she came back to the table with our 4 checkbooks in hand and asked if she gave bad service. We told her that her service was okay, trying not to cause a scene. She proceeds to reprimand us saying that the tips are low, that we as patrons need to be mindful and considerate that this is her way of income, and if we cannot afford to tip then we shouldn’t go out. What privilege and audacity! To make matters worse, the other tables surrounding us heard. One table next to us even called me over because they were in shock, appalled by her statements, agreed that her comments were inappropriate. My friends and I tipped appropriately for the type of service she provided to us. Right after we left, I called and spoke to a man named Jeff, who claimed he was the general manager and told him about the incident. He honestly did not seem to care much on the phone and just said it shouldn’t have happened. No other resolve. What should’ve been a happy friendship reunion for me and my three friends has now left a bad taste our mouths. I just wish management cared, and I’d love to...
Read moreMy wife and I went for dinner. There was an hour wait for outdoor seating. We were fine to sit inside, we still had a nice view for sunset. Our server dropped by and we ordered a bottle of wine. When the wine was dropped off I asked about the online menu on Google. NOTE: Server told us that menu is no longer valid since pandemic reopening. We understood and were fine with that. The in restaurant menu is very limited.
I mentioned that we came for the Seafood Tower. A table behind us had one, so I knew it was still an "off menu" option. The old online menu price was $48, which would have been an exceptional price. He told us that it was still available and included:
King Crab Legs Prawns 6 Oysters 2 Lobster Tails Tuna tartar Seaweed salad
For $175. I thought that sounded great so I ordered it.
This is where it turned weird.... The tower was set on our table, new place settings given, then as the guy who dropped off tower left, ourserver said "by the way, sorry, this doesn't come with lobster tails, so Im gonna knock off a few bucks", and walked off.....
*The oysters were good, as expected. *Crab was good, 1 leg and half a knuckle. *Prawns??? Well, these were actually 8 overcooked shrimp. Not even jumbo shrimp. *Tuna was good, it was about 1/4 cup *Seaweed salad was good, tho it was enough for 1 bite for each of us with Tuna. *2 Lobster Tails, well he was right, they were not there.
Here is the kicker! After all this the check came and they only dropped price by $25. From $175 to $150. I now know why the place is usually so busy. They must usually offer 2 Lobster tails for $25, what a deal!!
Well, it was the first and only time I will dine there. I left feeling...
