My family visited this location for like the 5th and last time this past weekend and was blown away by the poor experience. It was like the server decided that he did not want to give his efforts to our table. We all ordered a share tray, 3 in total, and all items were fried, so the timing of cooking the items should have been seemless. When we got the trays, the fries, bread, and calamari were cold. I also ordered a corn on the cob, and it was cold all the way to the cob plus no seasoning at all! Every other table I could see that ordersd corn had a seasoning on it like they show online. For anyone who has ever cooked corn on the cob, you know the cob holds heat even if the kernals start to get cold. One bite and the cob itself was like it was direct out of the fridge. It's like they cooked some items first and then waited 30 min to cook the other items. We placed our order within 10 min of being seated, and it took more than 45 min for our food to come out. No follow-up or anything. Mind you, these were all fried items it should not have taken that long. Also, no lemons were served with our meal of all seafood. It's like they just decided we would get the least quality of service that night. I would like to note that there were maybe about 4 tables seated on the second floor, so the delay was unreasonable since it did not appear to be that busy. When the manager finally came out he said he would re cook the cold items those took a pretty long time to come out also and again with the manager on it no lemons were served with the recovery items!! Did we not deserve the full experience? With the size of our party, we had the gratuity added, which we are used to since we often go out to dinners all together in a group of 8-10. Also, some of us are customer service professionals and always tip well and often over the added amount because we usually get good service. But on this check they had to ring in the recovery items for food count and one person in our party had to pay a gratuity on the amount of thier order plus on the additional $50 because of thier error. The service was sub-par, and that was wrong of them to do. I will be calling later to get that rectified. The kicker that tells me this management is not doing their jobs well. The ladies' room was a horror show when I went before I left. There were 3 female hostesses standing around doing nothing while the restroom looked like the bathroom at a public park that had no staff to attend to it regularly. Also, there is no toilet paper in any of the stalls. I am disgusted and disappointed about this experience. I'm not sure it was a bad night or if this is how they treat...

The bill was over $350 for a two-pound lobster tail, almost two-pounds of King Crab legs and a pound of Argentinian wild caught shrimp with the vegetable mix (onions, bell pepper and potatoes). We were told it would take about 20-25 minutes to cook. It actually took almost 45 minutes. I understand they were busy, as it's Mother's Day after all. However, the lobster tail was completely overcooked to the point that it was beyond rubbery and almost crunchy. The crab legs and shrimp were good, albeit on the average side. But, when you pay almost $160 for lobster tail and it's destroyed, it makes for a sad presentation and experience for a mother who hasn't eaten it in more than two decades! I expected more from a seafood establishment. Save your money and don't bother with this place unless you just want shrimp. This is my second round of trying San Pedro Fish Market and it was a FAILURE!!
Let me begin by saying the staff in the market "self-serve" area were very patient and kind, given the constant influx of patrons. I was excited to try this after seeing the San Pedro location featured on a food channel, but I was left feeling largely unimpressed. I thought I'd try three of the local favorites.
The clam chowder, which was stunningly thick and salty, could be eaten with a fork. This was strangely unappetizing and very goopy. The shrimp plate was well seasoned and had a nice number of shrimp to potato ratio. The garlic bread was a joke...basically a semi-grilled half of a hot dog bun that had some traces of garlic salt with butter. I'd hardly consider this garlic bread, but it's a step above Raising Canes' idea of Texas toast. The fish and chips really let me down. Not just because it was so greasy, that's a given for fried food, but it's the unbelievable amount of sopping grease that came from the fish that was then set on a bed of what would have been crispy fries, that's the ultimate shame. It's as though the cook didn't allow it to drain enough, or the oil wasn't hot enough to flash fry it, and instead it just absorbed a bunch of oil. Since it was so greasy, I couldn't eat the fries, as they were bathing in it, and most of the breading peeled off the fish in a gooey mess.
I wanted to like this. Maybe I'll have better luck buying my fish there to...
