L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Long Beach

This L&L location uses False Advertising to trick customers into coming in! I came in on my way back home and stopped by this location since the L&L app notified me that today was Spam Musubi Day and everyone with the app gets a free Spam Musubi. I ordered a BBQ Mix combo and requested the free Musubi. The girl at the counter who had the "didn't seem interested in working attitude", told me that they don't honor that discount and I would have to order $50 in food to get 1 free Musubi. I pretty much went to L&L for the Musubi, and couldn't believe that they wouldn't honor something so small. So I asked to speak with the manager, and the girl at the front told me"Why?! He's just going to tell you the same thing I told you!" I told her just get him anyways. I spoke with the manager expressing my feelings regarding this Bait & Switch tactic they were doing. He said, "How can you expect the stores to give everyone who comes in a free Musubi without purchase?" I said I did make a purchase, $17 for a plate. It's not the $50 you are demanding I spend, but I didn't walk in here expecting just a free Musubi. After I left I immediately contacted the L&L I normally go to, and explained the situation. They said their store was giving everyone who had the app a free musubi! And they told me I should report this Long Beach location to the corporate office as that's not right. Which I will definitely do! I'm never coming back to this location again! I suggest whoever is reading this to do the same, any other L&L location is better than this one! I will never step foot in this location again. I ordered a loco moco and waited. During my wait, the staff were unprofessional, having more personal conversations with each other than attending to customers. A homeless woman came in with a dirty cup, which she used at the soda fountain to get ice, and then helped herself at the water station in front of me and the counter. The restaurant smelled of urine at this point, and I expected the staff to say something, but they just watched. I also waited over 20 minutes for my order; I was overlooked, and about four people who ordered after me, even a phone order that came in after mine, had already been served. When I brought this to the cashier's attention, there was a lack of empathy, so I asked for a refund. No thank you, never again. In addition the customer whom ordered after me ordered extra food and was still served in a timely manner. The cashier only apologized for being short staffed. What about unsanitary?! The soda and water station was never whipped down. I completely lost...

I've been a customer for not that long but I'm very satisfied. They haven't had any of my orders wrong. What had me going there was their hamburgers, they taste homemade from a grill. I eventually started to venture into other dishes, chicken katsu, rice, macaroni salad, spam musubi (very filling) and grilled salmon. Covid protocols are still being followed. I started to pre-order because everything is made fresh, usually about 15-30 minutes. Staff is friendly and professional. Prices are reasonable. The quality is good. It's near a school, public transportation (train and bus), the hospital is across the street, other restaurants are near by, Albertsons is less than 2 minutes away walking, etc. Its a great location.
