Coffee is great and service was excellent. The only thing is to make sure to check your coffee is the correct order and that the beverage isn’t too hot! The location seems new still and some employees aren’t fully trained well. I had an error with my oat milk cappuccino order and they had made it an americano. HOT water + Expresso + oat milk.
The manager said the water is hot up to 200 degrees (honestly I think it was more for it to be melting the waxed lined cups) and they double cup a hot americano. Just be careful! I noticed it was really hot and waited 5-10 minutes for it to cool down. By 10 minutes the beverage was still not cool and my partner and I started heading over to our car. The single cup started melting and the lid popped off and started spilling over. I set it down on the floor of my front seat and it burned my hand slightly. Ouch! It was painful and not what you want, even drinking a hot americano, the water should not be that hot. My partner and I work in the coffee industry and no coffee should be that hot.
I carefully took it back and the manager apologized immediately and remade me one very quickly. I also had some avocado toast earlier and it was great.
Just be careful!! Other than that, I think the...
Read moreThe Local Grind is a Regular Spot. 👍
PROS: When you find your drink of choice, you feel content and satisfied. There is a decent menu selection for both beverages and foods, and I stumbled upon my go-to drink on the second visit, trying out different things. I order the same thing every time now, and very much enjoy it as a morning treat. Consistently delicious, between a number of baristas. I appreciate the little shopping items inside made by local folks/businesses, and the vibe of it clearly being a popular place for regulars. After a few visits, one of the baristas noticed I was a new regular in the mix and I've counted that at least three seem to know my order now. It's little things, so it lives up its name as the Local Grind or spot to be in the neighborhood.
CONS: I have not found worthy cons or reasons to not revisit this place, because it's a good business that operates well. There can be limited space inside (only when it's really busy) and this is balanced with outdoor seating. The food is not made in house from scratch like a bakery, but they support suppliers with good products.
All in all, recommended for a classic...
Read moreI had a Mexican Horchata Latte and a "Local's Only" everything bagel sandwich.
The latte did not have too strong of a coffee flavor, which I enjoyed. I didn't really taste the horchata in the latte, but it's probably why the coffee taste wasn't too strong.
The bagel of the sandwich was toasted well and had a nice flavor. The local's only bagel sandwich has eggs, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese. It's a nice creamy and warm combo. There was only one thing wrong, which was how the sandwhich fillings were falling out, but that's not their fault.
The staff were very nice and patient with me since I had never been there before. I was asking about the types of bagel options and what can be...
