Manny's Tacos — Restaurant in Long Beach

I usually don't like to eat from food trucks, especially when its tacos. But.. Desperate times calls for desperate measures, sooo i gave in and tried them and im happy that i did! Okay, so ive tried the carne asada fries, chili cheese fries, mulitas, & tacos: carne asada, al pastor, buche, and lengua. My favorite are the mulitas, they are similar to a quesadilla, stuffed with your choice of protein in 2 corn tortillas, they top them with some cotija cheese and avocado slices- the bomb! They are perfectly crispy, the buche is always perfectly grilled, and the lengua is freaking delicious! The carne asada fries are also good, i just wish they used regular cheese instead of nacho cheese. The carne asada has good flavor, like actual carne - asada. I don't care too much for al pastor, its average tasting so i dont get it very often. One thing i do regret ordering are the chili cheese fries! Gag. The chili literally tasted like it just came out the can and they used nacho cheese, so it was very soggy. I personally like my chili to be meaty and easy on the beans. They say that the salsa can determine how tasty your taco will be, and i completely agree. Good thing is that mannys tacos offers 3 different types of salsa, mild - spicy and all 3 have good flavor. The habanero salsa is the spiciest and its also my favorite. I also like that they offer grilled onions and jalapeños. I was so skeptical about giving them a try and overall, i can say that I'm always satisfied, i will keep going back...

I happened by this place (it's a food truck, so it's always at place) bicycling home from a very long day. 12:45 AM on a Friday night I didn't believe an open food purveyor, non-fastfood, would be right there. A small crowd had gathered, so I was hopeful. I ordered 2 carnitas street tacos, chips, and a Mexican Coke. Folks, one of the best carnitas I've ever had. I consider myself to be an expert when it comes to this particular Mexican staple. Carnitas done right usually means the place has good food throughout. I went back in line (yeah, a line at 1AM, and it's not a rave) and got 2 more tacos to go, and 2 more for immediate consumption. Every bite was perfectly proportioned, as if the Chef layed it out with grazing teeth in mind. If you see this truck, run to it. They hang out on Ocean in Long Beach, I'm told. Days there and nights up near Artesia...

Late nights craving was not 100% satisfied but decent. I ordered an asada burrito with everything and was so disappointed 😞!! The rice in the burrito was solid rock hard! It was like chewing into uncooked rice! Food quality is not fresh! However, the tacos Dorado chx was delicious! The atmosphere/environment is not very pleasant. So many homelessness and disturbing their customers 😳! I had a homeless man demand me order him food from the truck! If he had asked politely, I would've gotten him a meal. But no, the demand was really aggressive! This place would get more stars 🌟 if the food was fresh and surrounding areas wasn't so rough. But expected I can't blame the food...
