First of all, every time we've been here, this place has been dead. There is barely any traffic, and what traffic there is is all take out.
As an old restaurant owner, campers can be a pro or a con. If you're busy, campers are a con as they take up space that can be used for paying customers.
If your restaurant is dead, campers are a plus because it makes you look like you're busy. This can drive much needed traffic to the business.
I've only been in maybe four times. Three of those times I ordered food and brought guest that also ordered food. Last time I was here we had a business meeting that lasted 2hrs and the bill was over $80.
Today I stayed 3 and a 1/2 hours ordered naan and a beverage. Was quietly working on my computer. They had only one other customer.
I am approached for the 1st time ever and told that they are refusing me future service because I stay too long?! Mind you nobody had ever talked to me prior.
Now of course any business can decide to ask the customer to leave for staying too long, and taking up space, but to refuse service without ever saying anything prior, to do so when they have a full restaurant of empty tables, and to act as if you're the one that been rude, is completely unprofessional.
Their desire to not have to work or be available for dine-in service is likely why they are dead. They should convert to takeout only establishment.
I find the staff very passive aggressive.
FYI. You only get to have 60minutes to stay for 1 person 1 entree, 2 people each 1 entree, 3 people each one entree. Etc.
So you must order more than 1 entree per person per hour you wish to dine here.
Had no idea until today as it wasnt posted anywhere. They were sorry that they hadn't informed me before hand but still refused future service shocked and...
Read moreWe were really excited to visit this highly rated restaurant after reading the reviews. Having had a restaurant and ownership in various, I know how much work goes into running a restaurant. But we may have visited on a bad day and did not have a good experience. We visited last Friday evening. There were no salad options, so we wanted to include a vegetable dish with our order. There was a nice picture of a curry vegetable dish on the menu that looked great with a mix of vegetables. When we received the dish there were some potatoes and a few pieces of cauliflower, no other vegetables? More sauce and more like an aloo gobi. The naan was not fresh, dry and reheated. We like to have some raita to balance the flavors of the food and were given a very very small portion for the $2.99. When I asked the server did provide more. Our biggest issues was the Chicken Tandoori. The dish did not look like Chicken Tandoori and my wife shared with the server that it looked burnt and over cooked (see picture). We decided to try it and there was almost no meat at all everything was completely dry and tasted burnt. We once again shared with the server that this is not cooked properly and she said she will share that with the chef. But we were charged $17 for literally what appeared to be reheated leftover burnt and dried pieces of chicken. We should have refused to pay for this item. But the server was pleasant and I know this is a tough business. Maybe we came on a 'bad' night, but what was offered was unacceptable especially...
Read moreDo yourself a favor and try out Indian Bites - I guarantee you will already be thinking about when is too soon to go back. The service is fantastic and friendly from this family-run business. I have done both dine-in and takeout, and the food is consistently prompt and delicious. I had been lamenting being so far away from my favorite Nepalese restaurant in Boulder and how inconsistent/unimpressive the local Longmont options are when they had newly opened this last summer. I take everyone here - neighbors, friends, out-of-town family. Even those who think they don't like Indian food are hooked. I love that they can easily do dairy free in pretty much any meal but the Tandoori Chicken (since it's marinated in yogurt). Every meal tastes consistently fresh and delicious. My go-to had always been a Chana/Aloo Saag, but upon recommendation by the owner, I tried the Aloo Matar and am hooked. Paired with garlic naan, it's perfect. If the Chana Saag was slightly different, I would switch between them more but my personal taste finds the spinach cream sauce a little too smooth/pureed, while I wish the chickpeas were a little softer. Even that small modification aside, I still find it's the best Saag in Longmont - the others are just too inconsistent in their quality and don't taste as fresh. Also, please be the first to offer a dairy free Mango Lassi option :) I miss them so much. I'm sure I'll see you soon! Writing this review, my mouth is...
