I have eaten here a few times now, and have had mixed results each time. First visit was for breakfast. My wife and I had breakfast burritos. While a bit small, they were good. Nothing to rave about but solid quality. Second time was for dinner. The place was deserted. In the hour we sat there a single carryout order came in. The Birra tacos were great. Some of the better Birra I have had around town. They are expensive though. For $12.99 I would have at least liked a single side with the tacos. everything else we ate was dismal. The kids quesadilla was over priced and not at all good. It was stiff as a board. The queso fundito had a sauce on it that was like movie theater butter on it. I don't think I have ever been to a place that puts sauce on melted cheese dip. They were also out of half the meats for their tacos. While not a huge issue, their menu was already my small. The chicken taco my wife got was bland, dry and tasted old. We had also asked for a side of rice for my daughter. It was awful, it was clearly reheated in a microwave. It was full of uncooked bits and was congealed together. It's not worth ordering.
The service however was nice. I don't know the young woman's name. (She never introduced herself) but she was sweet and polite. We got checked on once and no refills offered on our drinks. She was the only one working the front of the house and looked busy filled sauce cups. We did have to go ask for the check. Also please list all your prices and if you have added fees. Seems like the side of rice was $5.00 bucks
While I want this place to succeed; anyone can have a off night. They may want to change some things up. There's alot of taco places in town for competition. They have a bar that doesn't look like it's used other than for soda. Maybe do a drink special to pull people in. I don't recall there being any bars in the area because of the school. Otherwise, it might be a good idea to pivot into a smaller location and only...
Read moreThe food is really good, but I do have 1 major gripe. There is not nearly enough information on the menu to make an informed decision! What all comes on each type of burrito? What comes on breakfast Burritos? How much is chips and salsa? How much is a margarita? What kind of margaritas do you have? Unable to ask waitress due to language difference, so it would be most helpful to have everything spelled out clearly on the menu so we can make an informed order. But the food is truly amazing!
Edit to Add: Apparently, the chips and salsa are free. You just have to ask if you are not hispanic. Everyone else got this brought to their table immediately. My entire meal was finished, and i went to ask how much it is to get some to go, and she said it's free. I also didn't get napkins or water without getting up to ask. Everyone else has this brought to their table. I'm the only non-hispanic customer here.
Edit #2: OK, so despite the good food, I have to go down to 1 star due to the bad service and HORRIBLE restroom. Look at the pictures. FILTHY. Completely unusable. Urine and trash everywhere. Filthy sink. I am appalled and grossed out that I actually ate here. If they can't even keep their bathroom somewhat usable, imagine how dirty the kitchen is. Ew, I think I...
Read moreRun, don’t walk to LoCo Burrito!!!! We finally made it out for our first visit and it did not disappoint!!!
The handmade chips were crunchy and salted perfectly. The red salsa had a great balance of tomato, spice and flavor.
The birria tacos are insanely good!!! Pro tip — the cilantro and onions are not decorative, put it in the taco!!! The consommé was absolutely delicious and compliments the cilantro and onions!
The Alambres was EXCEPTIONAL!!! This is a versatile dish with chunks of asada, pastor, bacon, bell pepper, onion, and a large dose of melted cheese on top. Absolutely delicious!
Great experience from start to finish - friendly and fast service. Staff took the time to explain the menu and made fantastic suggestions for our next visit! Portion sizes were deserving of the price. We are LOCO for LoCo Burrito!
