Wasn't busy when I went at 1pm today to the location on 287 and 66 in Longmont. Noticed two staff members (younger males) hanging out in uniform with a woman and her child at the tables right by the doors, one gets up and walks to the back. Okay, maybe they are on break. Start to place my order with BJ(older lady). I decided to try the pickle fried 3pc chicken tender combo that was on the point of sales sign right next to the register. BJ makes a scrunced up face, like ew..then says "Really, you really want to try that?" Yes really, is it your place to judge my choice. Isn't it your job to promote your product, even if you don't like it yourself? So I reply " Yeah, I'd like to try it out. Just the pickle fried, 3pc tender, combo please and thank you." She rolls her eyes and asks "How do want it....." I was confused because it seemed pretty straight forward. I said again, "The pickle fried, 3pc tender, combo that's right here on your sign." I turned the sign around to show her thinking maybe she didn't know the new special, it happens sometimes maybe she didn't hear me. She got huffy, "You can have it however you want it." " Ok, like I said before the pickle fried 3pc tender combo. Thank you." She rolls her eyes again and tells me my total. I find a not one clean table (nor floors) to sit at so I wipe one down with a napkin and wait a short time for my order. As I'm waiting I watch the guy who got up before come back and sit down again (young male) come up front to sit with the guy and the lady and child again. One guy tells him "Go do something. Clean something in the kitchen or sweep or something." I'm thinking that's a shift manager. Kid replies "I don't want to, there's nothing to do." Now I'm thinking....as my feet are cruching on old chicken and chunks on the floor and they watched me clean my own table space..yeah like clean your fricking dining room. Nope, he continued to sit there and they continued to chat up lady with kid. I get my order and it is SWIMMING in whatever grease or flavoring or wtheck ever it was, making my chicken soggy and the breading slough off. ICK! I ate my sides, attempted a bite of my tenders and finished my drink. I was there 45mins total. Not once did they do any work. As I emptied my trash into the over flowing trash can I know I am never coming back to this location again. Rude, lazy employees who clearly don't care at all and absolutely disgusting chicken. Save your money, go somewhere else. If I could add my photo of the at least 4 ounces of nasty...
Read moreIt's pretty obvious this place is in need of a complete change of management and staff. The beauty of fast food is that if processes are followed, the food should be consistent from one place to the next, all over the country or the world. You know what you're getting. And it's pretty hard to mess up fried chicken the way KFC does it. Well, ours was over done. Perhaps it had been sitting. The biscuit smelled and tasted funny, (And we both had tummy aches later in the day) while the slaw was fine. Given the complete lack of discipline and attention to detail, I am not surprized the food was not up to snuff.
When we walked in, the counter staff was polite but too quiet - one of my pet peeves. There's a LOT of ambient noise in these places, and you need someone who is going to speak up. And even though only about 1/3 of the tables were occupied, most tables and the drinks station needed a wipe. Even the front counter needed wipe - right in front of the guys.
AS SOON as our order was placed, two young men were on their phones, and I mean we weren't even in our seats. We ordered a 2 piece and a 3 piece, and one came a piece short. When I returned to the counter, two of the young men had a hushed conversation in Spanish looking at the order placed. The receipt was correct, it had just not been filled properly. I felt their attitude was begrudging and annoyed. No apology, no "we'll get right on it", etc. I got my extra piece, and they were RIGHT back to their phones. I couldn't tell who the Manager was, but everyone walked right past the guys on their phones as if it was normal procedure.
There were 8 staff, about 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Far too many, esp with the place in the state it was. Both bathrooms were a mess, despite the signs saying they checked every 30 minutes. No way. Maybe someone sticks their head in to make sure no one is dead on the floor, but no way someone had given the place a proper clean in hours. According to my fiance, the women's room door latch was so filthy she tried not to touch it - gross.
If this was my operation, I would be cleaning house (Literally and figuratively) and...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to have pot pies, and since we know they take a while to cook we decided that I would order them before I left work. I placed the order easy on the app, paid, and arrived at the restaurant 35 minutes after I place the original order. After I waited in line at drive-thru for a couple of minutes, I was told it would be another 15 minutes before the pot pies were ready.
Since I placed the order 40 minutes earlier I figured I'd have plenty of time to pick up a fresh hot pot pie right out of the oven, I was even told they only take about 20 minutes to make and bake which I knew wasn't exactly accurate. I parked out front waited for the delivery of my pot pies and the first order I got was a box of chicken and one pot pie.
I started to drive away but the smell of the regular chicken made me realize there was not the meal I had ordered. I turned around got out with back into the restaurant where the crew said 'Oh he's back'. The manager took the bag I had gave me my two pot pies without as much as a sorry for the delay, or the delivering the wrong order when they were ready.
Even though the food was good, the service left something to be desired. They also have a sign that says if you don't get your receipt with your food, your meal is free. I pointed that out when I got both of the meals but everybody just kind of laughed and walked away from me. This is one meal that should have been comped.
There is another KFC not too far from us but it's the opposite direction. They've never had the meal wrong so I'll just head to...
