I went here for dinner on a weekday around 8:00PM. The restaurant seemed to be about 75% full. I was alone and was seated as soon as I walked in. I was given some chips and salsa. I did like the salsa. I ordered (Enchilada Dinner) with a glass of water. I had beef variation of this particular dish. The (Enchilada Dinner) arrived at my table about just over 1 minute after I placed my order. The portion was suitable for one person. The food its self was mediocre. I could tell that the rice and beef in this dish were probably sat in a heating pan where they scooped them out to set up the orders fast. The rice and beef seemed dry to the touch. If I had to place a temperature on the food being served to me it was around 85 degrees - 95 degrees. So not necessarily hot. When you cook at home you know beef is supposed to around 160 degrees. There was no steam emanating from my (Enchilada Dinner). The meal costed $17.66 and I left a $6.00 tip. I will not return to this establishment though because I expect my meals at a sit down restaurant to be more freshly prepared. The waiter was conscientious with the service and the restaurant would seem like a fun place for a celebration event.

La Mariposa Mexican Restaurant dinner date with my bride! The original review got attached to the old location and Google will not allow the change. I took screenshots of the photos and have attached them here. We chose to eat here before the movie. We arrived about 5 on a Saturday and were seated right away. We asked to be outside since it was a beautiful day. Chips and salsa were brought out quickly and kept coming. We placed a drink order. She ordered a "mariposa" margarita and I ordered the "cucumber jalapeno". Both were very yummy. The jalapeno gave mine a kick. Later, I ordered a Mexican IPA that was good too. Once we ordered our main meal, it did not take too long for it to arrive. My bride ordered the Pollo a la Crema. She enjoyed it. It was creamy and tasted delicious. I got the Molcajetes Mexicano. It presented well, the shrimp, cactus and sauce were delicious. The steak and chicken were more dry than I like. I ordered medium steak and it was definitely closer to well done. Overall the food and drink were delicious. There was a wait when we left. We will be back.

Thought we would give this place a second try since they've been open for quite a while now and it had been a few months since our last visit. We were hoping to sit on their amazing rooftop patio but for some reason it was not open. Why are they advertising an amazing rooftop patio if it's not open in the middle of summer? During our first experience, we sat at the bar and were left unattended for so long that we couldn't even order entrees so we left. Unfortunately, it appears the service is still very much lacking as our visit yesterday was even worse. Took about 10-15 minutes for us to even be greeted at our table. At that point we were ready to order everything at once; drinks, appetizers, and entrees. Our appetizers came out but we had no plates or silverware so we had to wait and flag someone down to bring this for us. They brought our entrees out almost immediately after our appetizers hit the table. We still had not received our drinks when the entrees came out; it took at least 20-30 minutes after we ordered them for our drinks to arrive and you could tell they had been sitting on the service well for a long time because the ice in our margaritas had melted and the drinks were very watered down. The server never came back to check on us until after we were finished and ready for the check. They always seem to have a lot of staff just standing around but it seems impossible to get any good service. Don't waste your time here unless you have 2+ hours to kill waiting around for food and drinks. Learned our lesson, won't...

Honestly, this was surprisingly disappointing. So many people rave about this place and their food. I had been here about 5 years ago when they were at their last location and their food was very unimpressive. We never went back. They moved to this new location and i always saw it so full and figured they must have improved, especially seeing all these raving reviews. Well... That wasnt the case. They are so focused on the beauty of the place, and their fancy drinks theyve totally missed the mark on the food. My husband and I got the carne asada, he got the one with shrimp. The meat was not seasoned at all. And the green onion and jalapenos were not sauteed in oil, so were not as flavorful as they could've been. Both plates especially for the price we paid were absolutely disappointing. My children's plates, that were mind you $8, were the smallest servings ive ever seen, even for a childs portions. Its extremely over priced for the quality. It really confused me. The service was good. Food came out uncomfortably quick, especially for the amount of people they had in the restaurant. Their 20 inch burrito is hilarious lol the name sounds like itll be huge but not to worry, its so skinny my 6 year old couldve finished it. We didnt order it but the gentleman next to us did.

I hope the restaurant sees this and can make improvements. They make money, thats obvious. So please put in more effort into making your dishes more filling, flavorful, and appealing. Mexican food is such a easy cuisine if you know...
